I have 2002 dodge stratus, replaced timing belt-water pump-coil pack-camshaft sensor-spark plugs-idle air control valve. Runs smooth at higher speeds but idles rough and dies after about 10 to 15 minutes.

Double check the timing belt marks, its easy to get them wrong. if it ran good before replacing the belt, thats most likely the problem. do you have any check engine light or trouble codes? if it didnt run good before, i would check the compression

2000 ford escort 2.0L. plugs, wires, coil pack, alternator, MAF sensor. hard to start and RPM around 1k wants to die (any stops) always runs rough. Says air intake sensor. catalytic converter or CCRM?

Have you cleaned the throttle body and throttle body valve? have you cleaned the idle speed control air bypass valve? are the injectors clean? Are there any fault codes in memory, do the things I mentioned if you haven't already. Also hard engine mounts can cause roughness at idle. Another thing is the timing belt tight?

2001 dodge stratus will the coil pack spark if the vavles are bent

if your valves are bent ,then i take it your timing belt has snapped .which means your camshaft can not turn ., so you can not get a spark at the plugs.if it was the old distributor you would have been able to check the coil with a spark plug tester the trouble is with a coil pack it is controlled by both sensors and your ECU but due to the camshaft not turning so your camshaft position sensor can not tell the ECU to fire the coil pack.

I have a 2004 Dodge Stratus (4cyl) that idles rough (almost stalls out), dies on start up and recently had a flashing engine light (backfire error). Any suggestions? No other issues, water pump and timing...

Could be the idle air control, once these start hanging up inside, they can cause as variety of problems with idle speed (can become wildly random) or simply a failure to idle at all.

These links should help:
Where is the idle air control valve located on 2004 Dodge Stratus

This could also be caused by a failing ignition pack.

I put a timing chain and water pump in my 2002 dodge stratus and now it doesnt run right. I can unplug the coil packs on rear head and doesnt change the way it runs.

That sounds like a problem with a cam or crankshaft position sensor, and there might be a damaged sensor or tone ring, or dis-connected wiring to the sensors, or there might even be a camshaft out of alignment.

I have a 98 dodge stratus. timing belt broke, was replaced. the engine runs perfect at RPMs higher than idle, but at idle whole engine and car shake. . . . why???

This car has a very possible chance of having either a slightly bent valve, causing the loping idle, or the belt was installed a tooth off on the timing, it's one of the two.easiest way to deduce this would be to recheck the timing belt marks, to certify they're correct, then to do a simple compression check, get back to me with any questions, I'M HERE TO HELP!!!

99 dodge stratus dies while driving

Were the plugs covered in oil? With the plugs that go through the valve cover you might need new seals. Did you replace the plug wires? You need to scan it for codes. It's most likely a missfire, but it could be a bad speed sensor (also called, VSS vehicle speed sensor, cam position sensor,or crank position sensor).
