P1717 is a code for an electrical malfunction in the transmission range switch most likely it would not be connected all the way in . Troubleshooting says , adjust the cable .

Replace the neutral safety switch/ range selector switch. This should take care of both codes. Mounted on the transmission under where the shift cable connects.

yes, the hondas have a vast number of tranny codes.
rule 1: no ecu (or tcm) in the world knows what part is bad. !!
it only knows, what tests failed. period.
a mech, does his tests to find the real cause, guessing will be expensive.
you can buy the FSM and read it? the tranny section is over 100 pages, (on car alone tests) off car 1000 pages.
A/T is complex, to the extreme....
its not a sensor, why guess that?
