It is easier to contact your Mercury dealership to ask this question but I have changed many odometers out throughout the years and sometimes the dealerships frown on having to give you a new one because of the fact you could lie about your mileage and actually set back the miles which is against the law in many states. Sometimes the dealerships don't have a problem at all and will send off for a new one at a cost between $200. to $400.00 on the average.

Depends on the main fault, Dealer = $380.oo to 480.oo Good local garage about half and if you clean the car real good maybe even less, we like working on good well keep clean cars. Remove any thing that might get gone - of value. Mostly we do not like the stuff in our way (if it is a dash problem) and if for any reason something falls under the seat and you can't find it you feel ripped off.

Low idle 95 mercury tracer

The fuel filter on a 1995 Mercury Tracer Trio is on the firewall closest to the bottom of the driver's side. If you're looking at the engine from the front of the car you'll see the battery. $6.85 is the average price for a fuel filter.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Would the fuel gauge in a 97 merc tracer affect fuel gauge reader as well as the odometer

The gas tank sending unit would not affect the odometer.
The sending unit in the tank grounds the gauge.
You could have a problem with the printed circuit board in the instrument cluster.

The problem is the shifter interlock switch. Its fairly cheap to replace and simple.

Check you owners manual, and it will have directions on how to get the shifter to move untill you get it repaired.

I need a new transmission, what's the cost

If you are looking for a "NEW" tranny...that could go for up to $3000! Rebuilt with a warranty would be your best bet and that will still run on upwards of about $1500.00.

I need to change the odometer on my 97 Honda Odyssey

The only way to adjust the odometer is to bring it to a dealership and have them do it. For the cost and hastle over 20000 (4 oil changes), I would recommend leaving it alone.
