The other day my battery was super flat and the alternator supplied so much power it blew most of the electrics in the vehicle, including the instrument panel. The funny thing is all the lights blinkers, handbrake, glow plugs etc still work, but none of the instruments work. Is it possible to fix the instruments speedo, taco or should I replace the whole cluster?

Look in the Fuse Relay box under the Hood and Replace the Guage Relay. Should get it Fixed.
SOURCE: My truck keeps blowing the instrument panel fuse.
My 2002 F350 keeps blowing fuse 45. I lose the instrument cluster (all gauges) and there is no throttle response. Sounds like a wire for the od button is shorting out in the steering column. Remove the ignition switch and column shroud and look for a bare wire. be sure and look by where the boot sits. I am just looking for more info before I try it myself. Hope this works for others.
SOURCE: instrument cluster bulb is out. how do i replace
It may not be a bulb, as the instrument cluster usually has a number of bulbs and they probably didn't all blow at once. Pulling instrument clusters can be touchy and may not be for the average "shadetree mechanic" however, typically there are a few screws above the cluster going into the dash pad and a few hidden behind the trim panels below the cluster.

please advice, have you solved the problem? I have the same one on my Sebring. Many thanks.

Sounds as though u have experience the GM usual cluster failure. They go bad more often then probably any other vehicle. Gm has been replacing some under a goodwill warranty for some customers.
