In all these cases it appear to be a problem with the synchronizers or a dented pinion. To verify, the oil can be check for metal deposits. Fiats have bronze synchronizers and when placed under heavy shifting load they were out rapidly. if this is the case replacement is the solution and transmission has to be open. The car can be driven but gear will keep releasing. Sometimes the synchronizer level bends causing an incomplete setting off the gear.

SOURCE: fiat punto acceleration problems

nikki,

I had a similar problem with a 98 sporting. It turned out to be firstly the clutch had worn down to almost nothing and the fuel filter hadn't been changed in a good while so it got clogged. I would do the filter first. (located just under the drivers side near the rear wheel.

SOURCE: Why does my 91 VW Jetta stall out and lose power while driving?

I had a similar problem and the mechanic diagnosed it as a problem with the ignition coil. So you might want to get that checked.

SOURCE: i have trouble codes p0430, p0301,p0316, p2195 and

PO-430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)
PO-0301 Should be a misfire on COP Coil #1
PO-316 Misfire Occured in the First 1000 Engine Revolutions
P-2195 Lack of HO2-11 Switch/Lean
P2197 Lack of HO2-21

I have the same vehicle,only a V8
What you have is a very common ford problem. The Ignition Coil on Cylinder #1 is Bad. You can buy it at the local auto part store and change yourself. About $59.00. You remove the coil cover on top of the valve covers, then the coil. I did one in Feb and believe all you need is a 7mm wrench and 7mm socket. #1 should be at the front of engine/pass side.

The other codes are related and you can see if any are there, after you do the coil replacement. If so give them to me.

Fiat Uno 1100cc 1996 electrcal fault without warning all dials, indicators cease to function and engine cuts out at low revs. Any ideas please?

assuming the battery is good(volts > 12.0 engine not running) and remain good when dipped headlights go on(as a simple load test) then it may be the ignition key barrell. typically with light use a barrel will last 90k miles with heavy use 50k miles. ask yourself does the key when its in the barrel, feel wiggly and loose? if yes maybe its worth dismantling to see.

How to reset service indicator?

This can be done by disconnecting the battery negative for about 30 seconds. If the problem that is causing the light to come on has not been addressed it will come back on within 30 miles.

Poor pick after engine head got repaired

hi Medovi

poor pick-up and less miles per gallon after engine head repaired is due to two things could be done wrong during repair,
1: wrong tappets clearance, witch is suppose to be 0.30 MM inlet, 0.40 MM exhaust
2. wrong timing setting ( timing belt setting )
better to get your mechanics to double check it
good luck

2004 1.3 fiat doblo not doing more than 30 miles an hour

Hello
The engine and automatic transmission in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM

When my 79 fiat spider did this it turned out to be the ignition module located in the distributor. My fiat would die when it got hot. Let it sit for a little while it would fire right back up. Have you tried that yet? Here is a parts supplier for FIATs if you do not already know about these guys:
