the ABS does not cause the brakes to stick, they cause them not to stick so I would have to agree with them on that. Did you ever drive another journey to see if that vehicle had a similar feel to the brakes. It might just be the way the vehicles are?

If the ESP and ABS lights are on than there is likely a problem with the ABS system. The only way to find out what is going on is to scan the ABS system for codes and work from there. Any reputable shop will be able to do this.

According to Yahoo Maps, the distance between the two cities is 174.6 miles and will take 2 hours and 35 minutes non-stop. The closest town to the midway point appears to be Dawson Springs (exit 92, then turn right at the top of the ramp). It looks like there is a convenience store and a restaurant on the south side.

Segno is about halfway. Livingston is past halfway, but it's a much larger city than Segno if you are thinkng about spending the night.

There's not a major city at the exact halfway point, which is somewhere between Opelika, AL and LaGrange, GA.

Opelika is about 1 hour drive from Mongtgomery AL.

About 35-40 minutes further is LaGrange GA.

About 1 hour past LaGrange is your destination, Fayetteville GA.

Total trip (non-stop) is usually just under 2.5 hours (or less if you have a heavier foot).

Both LaGrange and Opelika are 'small' towns, with populations of around 27,000 to 30,000 people. Either would be a good place to stop for a rest.
