You need to take the two hoses off of the heater core. Remove one of the lines and hook the end of the other line that used to attach to the heater core to the fitting on the engine that the hose that was removed used to be attached to.

SOURCE: heater core

You have to pull the dash and all the lower fascia, then remove the box that houses the Heater Core Take the clamps off the heater hoses from the engine compartment side of the firewall and disconnect the heater hoses. Disconnect the bracket that holds the heater core in place from the inside of the passenger compartment (if present.) Carefully remove the heater core and discard it. Install a new heater core reversing the above steps.

SOURCE: How do you bypass a heater core on the 2000 Chevy

Yes it can be done. look at your engine on it there will be two heater hoses coming from the engine to the heater, disconnect those two heater hoses at engine, with heater hose and two hose clamps, get the hose and clamp first at auto parts, install one end and the other end of same hose, where you disconnected the heater hoses from the engine, you have just by-pass the heater, hope this was very helpful.

How to bypass a heater core for a 94 Chevy cavalier 4 cylinder

Dan has given you a good explanation. I'm not sure what else you need? The heater hoses should go to heater core, under the hood passenger side firewall.
I'm not sure picture is exact, but, should give you an idea of what it looks like. Just to add, it is winter time in my region, I wouldn't want to do w/o defrost, at least.

Few days ago cavalier decided to empty coolant out of its tank and overheat. we since then took compressor off serpentine belt changed thermostat checked oil for water flushed system checked fan heater...

Water pump. The impeller can come loose from the shaft and not circulate enough coolant. These can throw you off, because when you remove the pump the impeller will be tight against the shaft. It is when they warm up they begin to slip. If the heater core is not leaking don't bypass it.

My car made a loud noise and then hot water and steam went on the floor. what could this be? should I bypass the heater core and how do I do it?

One could bypass the heater core by joining the two tubes inlet and outlet together with a U joint, but heater cores don't cost that much and after an aftermarket heater core is put in, they usually don't fail because of their all metal construction (vs. the plastic collars that break in the original equipment heater cores.).
