2005 Mustang wont start or crank from the key.. wont say nothing good battery ..... all I hear is clicking noise my radio and lights and everything comes on but it will not do nothing what couldthis be have I blown something?
Not sure if lock has solenoid or electric motor, but either way, can you hear clicks or any prominent sounds from the door whilst trying to unlock it? you may need to put your ear on the door, if no sound, then wiring needs to be checked, then motor or solenoid, if you do hear similar sounds to the other door then the mechanical part of the lock mechanism has failed and may require a kit or replacement.
That sounds like a possible bad door lock switch to me. I have also seen defective door lock control modules cause the same symptoms. These things can also cause your battery to drain because it is probably also doing this when the vehicle is shut off. The power lock solenoids in the doors will also bedestroyed if it is allowed to continue.
If you cannot get it diagnosed and repaired right away, I recommend unplugging your door lock control module to prevent furter damage to the vehicle. Yours is located under the dash next to the fuse block. (See picture)
Several things can happen so do the following.
1. With your ear on the door press the remote to lock and unlock. If you hear a clicking sound in the doors open the door panels and see if the locking pins are not detached to the motor that activates them when when you lock/unlocks using the remote.
2. If there is no clicking sound then you are not getting power to the locking system in the doors. Trace wiring from the control unit to the doors.
3. If wiring from control to doors is OK then the control itself is bust. You need to have it repaired (if there are any good electronics techs in you area) or just get a new system installed.
i dont know about a e350,but on a f150 there is a locking relay behind the dash on the passengers side, just listen for clinking sound when you un-lock it.
ok the switch on the drivers side not working is the problem, its not allowing the cicuit to be completed.you may want to check the passenger side lock actuator.
Could be 1 of 3 different things. #1 the electronic solenoid that controls the lock mecinism has failed. check by feeling/hearing a click in the door when you try to lock/unlock. if you hear the click from that door it means that the linkage is broke or has come apart. If no click it is the solenoid or loose/broken wire. Chances are if it is a broken wire it will be in the plastic tube that runs from the frame into the door.
I have recently had this problem I believe this to has been caused by a fault in the drivers door lock assembly It seems this contains the remote receiver. In my case I think there had been some radio interference being the main cause. The remote system seems to be working OK, The door lock will still not operate with the key. Remove and replace the fuse 25 resetting the ignition module. Starting the engine, switch off remove the key from the ignition, stay in the car lock the doors using the door button, press and hold the remote unlock button for approx 5 seconds, listen to see if you can hear the clicking of the door receiver when you press the remote buttons. Press and hold lock/unlock button. You may be lucky.
