If this is a XK8 jaguar then its not that complicated for this year ,firstly check the fuel pressure manualy with a gauge in case the pressure is low ,as for a shudder from your description then iam sorry i would need a drive to know whats wrong or at least to get a feel of whats happening
Sorry Ann, Your description of the problem is pretty vague. There are lots of things that can cause a "shudder". It could be anything from bad tires, to faulty suspension parts, to damged CV joints to severely warped or cracked brake rotors (or several other possible causes). Your best bet would be to have a trained technician drive your car and/or give it a thorough inspection to determine the cause.
Hi your car got a speed warning system in the dash you need to reset it,check on your steering wheel or wiper and inticator levers for buttons for dash menu some models have a reset button also.hope this helps.
if it has overdrive transmission the torque convertor has a vein broke inside causing shudder replace torque convertor.
the torque conver does the overdrive when it hits a certain rpm it upshifts to overdrive in torque convertor.
with vein broke it hrows it out of balance causing it to shudder and possibly slip.
