Dear Jay,
Both of these outlets have a hot wire that begins at the fuse box, and ends at the socket; and a ground wire that begins at the socket and ends at a screw or connector to the negative ground of the car.
The sockets can melt, or short out, causing this problem.
They are cheaply made.
Unfortunately, you may have to do some serious "taking-it-apart" to fix them both.
My daughter also had a '04 Saturn Vue, with serious electrical issues.
God bless your efforts.

I bought two new 12v aux power outlets to replace the two that are in my 04 Saturn vue but I was wondering how to trace out the issue that made the fuses blow for the two power outlets that are currently in my 04 Saturn vue and how hard is it to replace the power outlets that are currently in my 04 Saturn vue because it is hard for me to be kneeling on my knees for a extended period of time

I have a 2007 chevy monte carlo and both of the accessory power outlets used to work. There is one in the front and one in the back. One day someone decided to put a dime in the back outlet. I did not find...

yes, according to the owners manual, page 396, the aux fuse should be the one that powers the Auxiliary Outlets.
if you have already replaced the fuse & it still doesn't work recheck the new fuse to make sure that it hasn't blown also.
also check to see if you are using right amperage fuse.
I have provided a link to a downloadable owners manual for you.

Rear cigarettte lighter in 05 Saturn Vue

I have had the same problem. Dealer said it was a corroded wiring connection. They changed it and problem was fixed. I suspect a lot of corrosion problems will occur eventually on my Saturn including the rear wiper wiring, which has gradually stopped working.

No pwer to front aux outlet

Most newer vehicles have aux outlets that can only handle so many watts and do go out if overloaded. If the fuse is good, pull the outlet out and check the hot wire for power. If the wire is hot the outlet needs to be replaced. Go to Autozone orAdvanced Auto and purchase a replacement outlet either in the "Help" section or in the Accessory aisle.
