Base fuel pressure at idle for a MPFI engine is around 40-45 psi. It if were a vortec engine like the 4.3 V6 the pressure would be around 70psi.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator

Two places to look...if you have separate injectors for each cylinder then regulator should be at the front end of the fuel rail. If you have throttle body injection it is on the throttle body itself.

SOURCE: how to replace oil pressure switch on 1988 Chevy

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

aaah!! the wonderful chevy 350. Probably the best engine ever made. It has had a track record few other engines can match.

Enough of old school. Unless they have moved the sensor in the last 30 years, you should find the sensor below the head 1/2 way to the oil pan.

Remove the electrical connection on the top and using the proper open ended wrench unscrew the sensor. Replace with new sensor and reattached the wire and you are home free.

If I forgot something or I can be of further help feel free to call or email me. Either way, please rank my advice so I can become a better helper in the future.

SOURCE: 1999 chevy silverado service 4 wheel drive light

I had a similar problem with the Service 4 Wheel Drive light which came on intermittently then became more consistent in the message center display. It would go into 4 wheel drive if the message center did not display the Service 4 Wheel Drive message in the message center, but not when the message was displayed. I found the transfer case switch module in the dash was defective, and it has been working with no other problems for three years.

I need to check the fuel pressure in my 1992 Chevy 1500 4 wheel drive 5.7 350. I know to do it at the inline fuel filter I just don't know what kind of pressure Guage I need to do it with.

I bought a fuel pressure gauge that has an adaptor kit to check fuel pressure right from the hose that goes to the filter. Any auto parts store should have one.

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 1997 chevy silverado with a 350 and how do you change it?

On the fuel rail, right above the fuel injectors. And how to change it, I think you should get a manual for it. it will be easier.

454 mechanical fuel pump , wont stay running

Not enough fuel pressure if this truck is fuel injected. In 1999 chevy fuel systems need at least 52 psi to open the popet valve inside the injector to allow fuel thru.Fuel pressure specs are 60-66 psi with on and engine off.

Code o300 checked about everything you can possiblly do and lite still comes on, any idea's 1999 chevy silverado four wheel drive, 5.3 motor auto trans.

Code p0300 is for mutiple missfires. Have you checked fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, fuel filter... Those would be the main cause of Mutiple missfires.

Change engine in different engine/350 fuel injection, try to find gas line to attach to switch with two tanks lines.

What you have is commonly known as a "dually" (because it has dual rear wheels) Essentially the truck is identical to others of that year except for the rear differential which has "floating" axles (likely a Dana unit). The best manual would be the original chevy shop manual...Otherwise try and find a chilton or motors manual for that year.
I don't quite understand what your question heading means...Are you considering swapping the engine?

OXYGEN SENSOR OR FUEL PUMP?

Change the fuel filter, check the fuel pressure, then pull the tank and replace the pump if the pressure is below spec.

95 Silverado backfires thruogh throttlebody

It sounds very likely that it is going lean. Could be a bad Mass airflow sensor or a fuel pump, maybe plugged injectors. The first thing to do if you can get your hands on one, is to put a scan tool on it that reads live data and go up a long steady hill while you are watching the O2 sensor voltage. It should toggle back and forth across .5V, if it remains below .5V while you drive, then you know it's not getting enough fuel. If so, check the fuel pressure to spec. If it is good, then the pump is fine and you're chasing the other two.
