Why does my heat only work on high and my radio display doesn't work

This might be a CAN Bus communication error (controller area network) There are 2 CAN Bus control modules - a high speed module to interface with the ECU and driving inputs/outputs and a medium speed module to handle the displays and driver data records (trip, fuel economy and consumption etc) The medium speed module does things like radio and A/C interfacing. The headlight is a mystery. Plugging in a diagnostic tool will test the CAN Bus interfaces for communication errors.

If your vehicle has a removable radio head unit, disconnect it and then reconnect it. The contacts may be loose.

Pretty common problem for this era Ford radio. Easiest way to solve this problem is to install an aftermarket radio.

if lcd display check for power and ground. When they go bad you have to replace whole radio. sometime you can find a shop to put in a new display.

Are you check fuses? and harnesses connections.

could be one of two feuses

check the fuse if you short out your cig lighter it will cause your radio to loose total power

i think your radio is history,you can get one from ebay for good price thats what i do for my customer cars.

Your speakers are just fine!! Original radios and some newr radios do have expiration dates. You have to look at the year of the car and if the radio is original . The display not showing is a great sign to know thats its gonna go out sooner or later. It's cheaper to get another than to figure how how much it cost to fix.

check the fuse box for fused fuse and replace them with the corresponding fuses.
