Check for power and ground at the break, transmission, interlock switch located at the gear shift - if you have power and ground interlock is faulty - replace interlock switch. If no power and ground - check circuit continuity.

2000 Pontiac grand prix ignition key won't turn off all the way and won't come out

Good chance your key is worn out. You may have to use more force to get it back and out turning the steering wheel at the same time. When you get it out, go to the dealer with your vehicle permit and have a new key cut. Don't get a key cut from your worn out key. I had the same problem with my 2000 grand prix. It might take some effort to get the key out and be careful not to break it off, but it will come out. Also try pushing the gear shift hard into park as the cable may be worn

91 pontiac grand prix se key stuck in ignition

91 Grand Prix SE: If you can turn car off with the key, but can't get the key out - first thing you should check is to see if the button on the shifter is fully releasing (the button on the shift handle you have to push to shift out of Park).

2005 Pontiac grand prix 3.8 doesn't start

Try this: Turn ignition on for AT LEAST 10 minutes without doing anything else. After 10 minutes, turn the key to start, thre is a good chance of it running. Long explanation, but it has to do with the PassLock security system futzing up.
