SOURCE: runs fine then just quits

Need to check whether it's spark or fuel lacking when it quits & won't restart. One easy way is to remove air intake hose at throttle body when it won't start, and give it a good spray of WD-40 into the throttle body with plate open, then try starting it. If it fires for a couple of seconds, you've got a fuel delivery problem, so check fuel pump relay, and fuel pump, and if possible, have fuel pressure tested when it quits, and that will confirm whether pump shot or not.

SOURCE: Slow Start/Engine Light

My advice is that you get the trouble codes read[or buy you own obd2 reader at wallmart because around here they charge $60 for a scan and you can buy the scaner from them for less than $100 and you can check it yourself if the light comes back on].A scan tool is the only way to know for sure where you should be looking.

does the unit crank after it fails? I would check all of my battery connections you may have a loose ground either at the battery or at the engine. You may also have a bad starter relay located un the fuse panel under the hood

Dead battery, used jumpers. Lights work dashboard lights up. Motor will not turn over

If the battery is very dead, it can take a while for the dead battery to regain enough charge to start. If you are jump starting from a jump box and not a running vehicle, there may not be enough power available to get the charge to a level that can start the vehicle. Hook up the jumpers cable to a running vehicle and allow 10-20 minutes for the battery to gain some charge. Monitor both batteries carefully during this time and should any unusual amount of heat or if smoke starts to come from either battery, shut everything down and disconnect as quickly (and safely) as possible.

Driving along and engine cuts out with oil light flashing. Car will not start for several minutes til glow plug light comes on!! then starts and runs normally.??

Many newer cars have a safety feature that shuts the car down if oil level is low. check oil level if good may need to replace sensor.

New battery fitted warning lights on

Try disconnecting the battery again. Let it sit for 15 minutes and hook it up again. This resets the computer in car. After hooking it back up, allow car to sit another half an hour. Try starting it. Sometimes after regenerating your car's computer, the car may run rough for a couple of minutes while all system are regenerating. It's worth a try. I dont know what a car with a spanner is. Never seen a light like that before, but if the airbag light is on, try turning airbag off. Ususlly a key cylinder on the dash, and turn it back on.Hope this helps

need to start with do you have any obd code with key turned on
caddy is more complex system than most , check fully charged battery, and not a jump start, and battery is in very good condition .disconnecting battery would only clear codes leaving you with nothing to go on hopes this is some help to you.

Try closing the doors then hook up jumper cables, let it sit for a couple of minutes with cables hooked up and other vehicle running. Then try to use key to turn off alarm before opening door. Then try to start it.

Chevy cavalier z24 theft system light on

This is a easy fix. Lucky just follow the procedure and your car will start. This is a theft system shut down.
The procedure is. Disconnect battery for a minimum of 30 seconds. ( one post is OK. )
Reconnect battery and get in the car and start as usual 1 time only. When it starts and stops letthe key just return to run position as if it was running. Do not shut it off and if you do you must stert the procedure all over again. i usually put on the emergency brake before i start and that shuts of the driving lights etc.
Just leave the key in on running position and go have a coffee. it takes 15 to 20 minutes for the car to recycle the system. When you come back to the car the flashing theft light will either be off or solid.
Try to start again. If it doesn't go shut it off and turn back on and start as usual. It will start and run and stay running.
The reason you have this problem is something electronic was disconnected whe the battery was hooked up. always disconnect the battery before you touch anything electronic and you will not have this problem.

1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue security light on/power only sometimes

first thing you need to do is unhook any wiring installation you did. It sounds as if you have running your power straight to ground. Somewhere you made a wrong connection.

You have also discharged your battery as part of connecting your power lead to ground.

Disconnect what wires you hooked up for the light system and then recharge the battery. Bill
