You must remove the cross bar and loosen up the motor mounts and trans mount, and pick up engine a little bit.

SOURCE: alero

it could possible be your fuel pump. If your fuel filter is going bad that want stop it from starting. I have a 2002 alero. I done have both fuel pump and fuel filter go bad. so i have a little experience with them.

I dont know how to change the drivers side transmission mount on my 99 alero what would be the best way

YOU NEED TO SUPPORT ENGINE TO REMOVE TRANSAXLE BRACE.YOU CAN USE FLOOR JACK WITH A PIECE OF WOOD ON JACK SADDLE.YOU NEED TO REMOVE WHEEL OR TIRE SPLASH SHIELD TO REMOVE THE TRANSAXLE BRACE PLACE FLOOR JACK WITH A PIECE OF WOOD IN JACK SADDLE PLACE JACK UNDER THE ENGINE OIL PAN.SLIGHTLY RAISE JACK A LITTLE JUST ENOUGH TAKE PRESSURE OFF THE TRANSAXLE TO REMOVE TRANSAXLE BRACE.DONT RAISE FLOOR JACK UP TOO MUCH UNDER THE ENGINE OIL PAN BECAUSE YOU COULD DAMAGE OIL PAN AND OIL PUMP.

Where is the crank shaft sensor located on a 2001 oldsmobile alero

on the 3.4 liter engine, it's behind the harmonic balancer--you have to remove the crankshaft pulley/balancer to see it.

if you have the 2.4 liter, it's just above the oil filter:

I am trying to change the oil. where is the oil pan located on the undercarriage?

The oil pan on a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora holds all of the oil for the engine and also protects the oil sump pump. The pan hangs low to the ground, making it prone to damage from rock.
Set the jack underneath the front crossmember of the car.
Set the jack underneath the transmission and lift it up until it just contacts the pan.Unbolt the oil pan from the bottom of the engine using the 3/8-inch ratchet, extension and sockets. Lower the pan off of the engine and away from the car.You must first remove the transmision, then the exhaust crossover pipe, then the oil pan. ------------

Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Oil leaking from oil pan

check the drain plug to be sure it is tight enough. if not that it is probably coming from the oil pan gasket.
