SOURCE: can't find oil level stick in engine compartment

The BMW 525I doesn't have a dip stick. The oil level is checked using the "i" menu. Select service status and from there you should choose "check engine oil level".

SOURCE: where is oil filter located on a 2006 bmw 525i

It uses a "cartridge filter" the cap to the filter is on the top side of the engine, normally towards the front. NOTE- The procedure is to remove the filter, drain the oil, replace drain plug and filter, refill with oil. Some models have a canister at the bottom towards the front. These are a little trickier as the material used for the canister are very brittle.

Oil change reset for bmw 525i

You only need to hold the left odometer reset button while turning the key to position 1 (Accessory). Keep holding the button for 5 or so seconds until any of the following shows in the display: OIL SERVICE or INSPECTION with RESET or RE. Release the button and press it again for another 5 or so seconds until RESET or RE flash. While the display flashes, press the button one more time briefly. If done correctly, END SIA should show up for a few seconds. All done.
