Check the Door connections.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Access and inspect the right power sliding door contact switch for contamination, alignment and/or damaged terminals of the contact and address it as needed.

2. Check the circuits of the right sliding door contact switch on the door side of the contact for a potential open or short running between the contact switch and detent switch connections and address the circuits as needed.

3. Check the signal of the detent switch with an ohmmeter by measuring resistance between the contact terminals 1 and 3 on the door side of the sliding contact switch. When thedoor handle is operated, the ohmmeter should indicating momentary continuity. The door handle should only need to be moved in 10 degree increments to the value of the detent switch to change.

Rear passenger door won't stay closed

Door latch on door itself is in closed position if it will not close at all. In this case, open door and pull outside handle hard to pop open door latch. If you have door opening at random, door latch needs replacing or door catch on body is loose.

Door on 95 geo metro 4 door won't close because the child proof lock in on and I can't get it to go off. Door won't stay shut. Any ideas how to fix this?

Your childproof lock have nothing to do with the latch not closing. It only makes it where you can not open the door from the inside. I would think you are in need of a new latch.

GMC Envoy 2004 XUV tailgate won't latch closed. Pressure switch makes latch click but when I go to close it, it does not latch.

Two things happen. One the latch is already latched and therefore it's closed before the gate shut, When you try to close it you might notice that the door don't close all the way. This doe'snt have to be thwe case. the other thing that happens if the lock mechanism is working, You here it click? The latch is stuck as the opener is stuck. You might get lucky and spray the latch with Blaster or other rust buster type penatrant. Theres angles though the opening of the latch . Spray on several angles and repleatly close the door trying to vibrate the Penatrant into the stuck area. Looking at the latch use a screw driver to move the latch and see if you can cycle it though it's positions to see if you can latch and unlatch it with the tool and reopen by pullung the handle ( you may need to try ther inside handle too and even the remote openner if you have one. Ussaaaly you need to push the button twice to open the rear hatch so it may take a few trys and spraying to get it to come loose.. Some vehicals stay closed a long time and stuck is the way to think.. But if the door is used often the linkage inside the door mayh have come off the the latch is closed and the linkage doesn't open the laTCH AND THE THING MANAGED TO GET CLOSED WITHT THE DOOR OPEN.

I hit passenger sliding door on garage door while

the door is out of adjustment. you could also have something bent. those are very heavy doors and I would recommend to take it to a honda dealer only for repairs. I helped a gentleman in your exact same situation and it took a 20 year tech all day to get it right.

My sunroof will not close and stay closed. When the knob is in off postion it goes to close and reopens itself. It seems that the knob/motor is confused and thinks its always on open. How do I fix this?

I also have a 2003 GTI, and my sunroof recently started doing the exact same thing! Wish I could help you. I found your post while trying to find some info about this problem online. If I find anything, I'll post a link for you here. Good luck!

Sunroof on 2003 jetta tdi won't close. it has power, and operates, but will always reopen, by itself, when it is almost closed. ???

There may be something obstructing the path. Possibly the wind deflector? It's also possible that the sunroof knob is out of sync with the sunroof itself. Try putting your key in the drivers door lock, turning and holding that position while the sunroof closes. (not sure which way you have to turn) You can also close it manually with a hand crank (which is actually an allen wrench)
