A lot of them have this problem. Check the dash setting on the dimmer light. If that is not the problem, unless you really really need the dome light, I would simply remove the light bulb.

SOURCE: gmc savana van will stop running while driving or start sputterin

It could be a clogged fuel filter or a bad fuel pump. Also try replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires and having the timing checked. Good luck.

SOURCE: 2005 GMC Savana ,where is the OBD-2 link?

They are typically located at the right or left side of the steering column under the dash at the sound panel. Look at the sound panel and you will see a hole in the panel and the connector should be visible.
Let me know.

Dash lights went out in gmc savana 1997

one of the lights may have went out and they may have been on a single circut light sting. like on a chrismas tree. you may need to fix one light and they might turn all on. you also can go to your macanic and have they check it out and tell you.

The dome light will not go off. I am looking for the fuse which will shut it off so I don't waste the battery until I can see what ia going on tomorrow

Don't pull the fuse ... the light is probably not the only thing on the circuit. Make sure the light has not been turned on using the switch on the dimmer for your dash board lights. If this is not the case and you still want the light to be off ... remove the bulb. Simple
