Most likely near the thermostat if it has one, but also they can be located on the cylinder head.

Peugeot 206 temp gauge rapidly goes from middle to red light high. Fluctuates. Checked coolant ok. Worse with up hills and faster speed.

You may have a cracked cylinder head or damaged head gasket.
Open the coolant bottle and rev the engine, if you see bubbles and get an exhaust has smell then you probably have trouble.
Unless you are very mechanically inclined or better yet a mechanic, it’s not recommended you try fix it yourself.
If you don’t pick up any bubbles or exhaust gas smell, you may have a blockage or even an airlock in your cooling system

How to replace a radiator on a 2003 mitsubitshi lancer es

make sure the engine is cold , drain the coolant from the rad ,there will be a drain tap/bolt on the bottom of the rad ,be sure to us a container to collect the fluid as should'nt be left to run down a drain etc as is very toxic, disconnect the top and bottom hoses, there are usually two bolts either side of rad loosen these, rad may lift out if not remove the bolts and lift the rad away and out of vehicle , if the cooling fan is attached to the rad remove , will be obvious what bolts need undoing, replace this fan unit on new rad ,then refit new rad , reverse of removal , dont for get to check the drain plug is closed on the new rad , refill cooling system by adding coolant to the expansion tank, run the engine and bleed the air from system ,there will be bleed screws at various points around cooling hoses etc , allow engine to cool 1 hour min ,check coolant level top up and repeat bleeding process as neseccary good luck very straight forward job , keep me posted

My 2002 buick century overheats and has no heat

Possible trapped in system. Bleed system, should have two small screw bleeders, one in front of left valve cover on pipe behind water pump and the other on coolant pipe outlet as you follow upper rad. hose towards engine. Engine cool, remove rad cap, open both bleed screws and fill rad until coolant flows free out both bleed ports. close both bleed screws, rad cap off, start engine and let idle until upper hose is hot to touch , shut off, let it cool down for 20 minutes, top up rad and install cap. restart car ,drive and check.

My heater in my peugeot 206 gti is on constantly..tried changing the climate control unit but it has made no difference...any ideas?. thanks :)

According to the Peugeot dealer the 206 gti thermostat resistor is embedded in the heater blower fan, so the blower fan must be replaced ( Supplied VIN # for confirmation). However the how to remove the blower is the subject of many discussions on every 206 site. Some say turn blower clock wise, anti clock wise, remove hex screw, don't remove screw. So I am still waiting for a sure answer, I picked up a blower (second hand) but the old blower wont budge, clock or anti , someone suggested to try brute force like with a hammer, I am not game to do that, but I may have to.

How to replace cooling fan on peugeot 206

The cooling fan on the peugeot 206 is situated between the front grille and ththe radiator, To gail access to the fan you first need to remove the 4 push/pin fixings that hold the upper grille panel ,then remove the 2 torx screws from either end of the upper panel (one at each end. Next the lower grille panel needs to be removed by disengaging each end from just below the headlights, these ends are held in place by clips ,and care must be taken when pulling the lower grill from these clips.Once you have both upper and liwer grille removed ,it a simple matter of unplugging the fan connector ,and removing the 3 fixing bolts , the fan can then be removed ,

I can't find the thermostat location on a 2005 chevy uplander? I need to replace it and have the part but can't find it in the engine bay. Took both coolant hoses off no luck.

the thermostat is under the throttle body
remove the air box and the throttle body
remove the top thermostat bolt
the bottom thermostat bolt remove 95% the hole is slotted
replace thr t-stat and reassemble
IMPORTANT
if you have anLX9 engine there will be air bleed scews
if you have an LZ9 it will not have air bleed screws
ok if you have bleed screws open both then fill the rad wait till a STEADY STREAM of coolant is coming out then close bleed screws
start the vehicle put your heater on HOT and VENT AND BLOWER ON HIGH
run vehicle till u get HOT NOT WARM AIR coming out of vents this will insure you have no air in the cooling system

now if you have no bleeders
then fill the rad then install the rad cap
start the engine run engine 2,000-2,500 RPM till the temp. gauge reads about normal about half way
then let the vehicle idle for 3 min
then shut the vehicle off and cool down so the rad cap can be removed
SAFELY
top up coolant
also make sure there is good hot air coming out of the heater if not repeat procedure there is still air in the cooling system
hope you found this helpfull

2002 pt cruiser overheating was told i need a new raditor and thermostat for 1 grand sounds fishy

Flush rad & change coolant & thermostat. Check operation of rad fan, & make sure it is coming on when engine reaches normal operating temperature. Be sure to bleed air out good when refilling rad/cooling system. Start engine & turn heater on when refilling & let rad fan come on & off at least 2 or 3 times before putting cap back on rad, and refill rad as needed as you do this. then fill return bottle to proper level & see what happens.

2004 Ford f250 7.3 Litre Powerstroke turbo Diesel overheating

hi themulks
dave here

if you have a rad cap open it and check your coolant level. if it is low fill the rad and leave cap off while you then put the recovery resorvoir at the proper cold level. Move your way along to the thermostat and look for a screw and nut at the top of the housing. If there is one then this is the highest point of the coolant in your vehicle and you will bleed it by opening this hole and running your engine until only coolant flows from the exposed hole. Do not remove the screw just turn it until the hole in the side is revealed. I basically almost remove the screw (till it kind of wobbles) and then turn it back in til it stable (like 1 turn). Be sure that the coolant is flowing without bubbles(air) and not just kinda trickling with short pauses.
If the housing for the thernostat is lower than the rad cap then you bleed it through the rad. Wait for the thernostat to open and the level to go down and then refill it and watch to see no more bubbles (air) escaping. Once the vehicle gets hot you may have to wait for the engine to cool(ie) turn it off for a while and redo it. Also if you are using the thermostat bleed hole be sure to put the rad cap back on before you start the bleed process and keep your eye on the coolant resorvoir adding coolant as needed so you dont **** more air into the engine.
