Call your local Mits dealer ask for the parts dept. and ask for a price for the part, than ask for it's part number. have the year/month/engine size and the VIN handy it may make the search for the part more accurate .as you want the right part because in most cases, it's a non retunable part ! . Oh ok, well you can start at the fuel tank, locate the power wire for the pump, check that it has a good ground then ID the power wire POWER IT UP to confirm pump is operational ? if yes..chase the wire back to the ECM/BCM or fuse block/relay panel, you can un-bolt the panel to get a look at wires. here is a picture I found.

How to replace the fuel pump on a 2009 mitsubishi galant

The Mitsubishi Galant has an electric fuel pump so you should ensure that its fuses and relays are working before checking it. You may need to clean your fuel pump or replace it if your gas tank is not empty, but your vehicle has difficulty getting fuel. The Mitsubishi Galant's variety of styles and trim levels can affect the replacement fuel pump you choose.
      1. Determine which fuel pump your Mitsubishi Galant will need. This depends not only on the make and model, but also the engine size. Models made from 1969 to 1973 will have a 1.3 L or 1.5 L engine, 1973 to 1975 models have a 1.6 L engine and models made from 1976 to 1983 may have a 1.6 L, 1.85 L, 2.0 L or 2.6 L engine.
      2. Look at later versions of the Mitsubishi Galant. Models made from 1983 to 1991 have 1.6 L, 1.8 L and 2.0 L engines. Models built from 1992 to 1998 may have 1.8 L, 2.0 L, 2.4 L and 2.5 L engines. Models for 1999 to 2003 add an option for a 3.0 L engine. The latest generation debuted in 2004 and may have a 2.4 L, 3.8 L or 3.8 L engine.
      3. Prepare your vehicle for service to the fuel pump. Relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Take out the rear seat cushion. You will need to pull the seat stopper out and lift up the lower cushion. You can now remove the access cover.
      4. Unplug the fuel pump's electrical connection and disconnect the fuel send and return hose. Remove the retaining cap for the fuel pump with tool MB991480 and remove the fuel pump.
      5. Install the packing material on the fuel tank. Replace it if the packing material is damaged or deformed. Install the new fuel pump and align the marks on the floor pan and fuel pump.
      6. Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.

Need mopar part# and location of fuel pump relay on 1998 mitsubishi galant ES sedan, 4 cylinder??

The fuel pump relay is located below the dash, in the center console area bolted to the vertical metal uprights that support the dash.
Depending on production date, the MFI and fuel pump relays may come together or separate. If together, the relay comes as a module consisting of both relays attached together on a metal bracket.
The relays are normally $27 each.
