Overheating can be from Blocked Oil Ports, Failed Thermostat, Warped Head, Blown Head Gasket, Low Coolant Level, Cracked Heads. I would pressurize the system and see if there is a Coolant Leakage. If you pull the Spark Plugs and inspect them, you may find one is VERY CLEAN. Steam will clean them and that is one way to troubleshoot the system.

SOURCE: losing coolant from pipes above rear axle on kia

It sounds like a leak in the water jacket of your motor, it could be just a head gasket if you're lucky. Also check for a leak in the coolant pipes them selves usualy at the connections.

Rear heat quit working in 2003 Kia Sedona?

i had the same problem back in 2007 0n a 2003 Kia sedona xl found out that there ate copper tubes running from the rad to the rear heater had small pin holes in those tubes'. Had to replace the tubes but if you get it rom Kia it will be pricey. Try a auto parts shop they maybe able to help you. But also check main rad if you see any leaks or coolant on the grond may have to replace rad at same time

My 2002 kia sedona is leaking coolant from the rear by the spare tire causing the van to overheat. What are the possible problems and estimated costs to repair.

your rear cooler lines are leaking-they rust out(very common)the cooler lines are sold as a kit-include both going to rear-youll have to call around for quotes-when i worked at a kia dealer the repair was around $400-$600

My radiator coolant dripping very fast by the muffler pipe beside the transmission.

your vehicle has a service bulletin on the metal heater hoses; they corroide and leak. They run from your heater core (front of van) to the rear most of your van by the spare tire (rear heating). This happened to mine, I had to replace the same. This is a known common problem.

KIA SEDONA HAS REAR HEAT BUT NOT FRONT HEAT BLOWERS WORK BUT ONLY COLD AIR COMES IN FRONT

This could be a serious problem. Check your coolant level, then check the rear heater lines that supply coolant to the rear heater. They run under the van, over time they rust and leak. Because it is under and to the rear of the van it is hard to notice, i.e. coolant puddles and smell. But please note that this engine has aluminum cylinder heads and does not take kindly to being overheated.

2003 kia sedona over heating and no heat

Check your rear coolant lines, These lines always rust and start leaking coolant and thats why your engine over heats and you dont get any heat inside your car. This is a common problem with kia sedona that have rear A/C and Heater. There are two fixes to this problem. The first is to replace the rear heater coolant lines with the updated lines from kia. The second will be bypassing the rear coolant lines with a hose, however the rear heater will not work with this method.

removing the rear coolant lines is not that easy. The lines near the fire wall are really hard to remove. Its also much easier to replace the lines with the car on a hoist.
hope that helpfull
