Bulbs are fine just dont know were the fuse is on the vehicle and not got manual

Yop may have a very common problem unique to that year car.
I have two definite fixes for you:
Open the trunk. Look at the wiring harness that is hooked onto the driver side arm that holds the trunk lid to the body. Untape the wiring harness from the edge of the trunk lid back towards the driver rear seat. You are most likely going to find a broken wire or two, prob a green with a red tracer. The repeated action of lifting/closing the trunklid seems to break the brake/tail power wires. If the wiring harness is perfect, no breaks, AND you have a rear spoiler, remove the trunk interior trim that faces the driver side 1/4 panel. Hidden behind a brace will be a small box. This is the brake lamp sensor. If it has failed, you may need to replace this box. Either fix should resolve your issue.

It wouldn't be a fuse if that's the only light that's not working, I believe all of the parking lights are on the same fuse. It's most likely a bad ground or corrosion inside the socket where the bulb makes the electrical connection. So check the socket to make sure it has no corrosion, if it does, clean it up and apply some dielectric grease (available at any parts store) to prevent future corrosion, and check for a loose or broken ground wire.

Then the only thing left to check is the brake switch, which is usually located under the dash, linked up to the brake pedal itself. It's the true secret to the inner workings of the brake light. If that switch is defective, either the brake light won't come on at all, or they will stay on all the time. Either way, you either need to replace it, or maybe it just unhooked from the brake pedal and you need to fix it.
SOURCE: trouble locating fuse box in
a '54 astra??? not quite sure which model you are refering to, but in most vauxhalls the fusebox is located in the footwell of either the driverside or the passenger side. There is small hatch that opens if it is pulled.
But on some astras it is located behind the storage compartment to the right hand side of the steering column and the drivers door.
