You're vehicle has two sensors for the oil,an oil pressure sensor switch & oil pressure sensor. If oil pressure gets below 6psi,the oil pressure sensor switch will turn a dash light on to let you know the pressure is at a dangerously low amount. So if you've got a dash light on,the pressure sensor switch needs to be replaced. Its located to the right of the oil filter housing,on a 2.0 liter. Its located to the left of the oil filter housing,on the 3.0 liter. If your oil pressure gauge is reading inaccurately, you need to replace the oil pressure sensor instead. Its located near the ac compressor.
Locate the sensor. Different car models will have the sensor in a different place and may require the removal of other items to gain access. As a general rule, the oil pressure sensor will be located in the area of the oil filter. If you don't know what the sensor for your car looks like and you're sure it needs replacing, purchase the sensor first and you'll know exactly what to look for in your car.
The block drain is on the passenger side of the engine, in the center of the block near where the oil pan attatches to the block. Engine Block Plugs/Sensors
On 3.0L OHV engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the left
side of the engine block above the flywheel. On 3.0L DOHC engines the
sensor is located on the left side of the engine block above the oil
filter. On 3.4L DOHC engines the sensor is screwed into the oil filter
adapter. The oil pressure sensor operates the oil pressure warning lamp.

Hope help with this (remember rated this help). Good luck.
oil pump is in the oil pan and if you have no or low oil pressure replace pump before doing anything with knock sensor. knock sensor is more or less a microphone and listens for spark knock but will set codes for any knocking or tapping noise which is commonly heard if oil pump is malfunctioning
The oil light on your car has nothing to do with oil level in the crankcase but rather oil pressure. The oil pressure switch/sensor is located on the rear of the engine block above the right axle I believe. Unless you have engine noise or suspect low oil pressure, I'd replace it but you could check oil pressure for peace of mind with an pressure gauge if you wish. You may need a special socket to replace it.
