Error 145 P 145 error code; chk engine light on

normally if you clear the codes it means that all the codes are cleard, unless there was a problem with the car that was never sorted out, and if that is the case they should be able to tell you what the code means

You have a failed transmission, it will need to be torn down and inspected to see exactly what went wrong internally.

if you have a scanner you can chk codes if not unplug battery for 15 mins and recheck if comes on then there is a hard code to chk

If your check engine light stays on, or if they have erased it and it came back on, it means its a current code or malfunction. I would recommend going to Auto zone or almost any parts store, sometimes they will read your code for you at no charge. If it is a p code it can be referenced online for a proper diagnosis.

I had check engine light and TRAC OFF. OBD-II MIL code was P1133 which is Air Fuel Ratio Sensor Response Malfunction and scanned by AutoZone. After disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes, the lights went off. I cleaned the gas cap and tightened it firmly. For the last 400 miles, the lights have not come back. When scanning using Snap-on one, no code was detected. I think gas cap was the reason for the lights.

Check the pcv hose from the intake manifold to pipe with the car running. They get soft with age and will collapse while the engine is running. Just fixed my 2004 for this problem. Remove battery cable for a few minutes to reset ecm. Also a loose fuel cap will turn light on also.
