Ng900 and og9-3 fuel door locks with all the doors, use the remote or central locking switch to unlock all the doors, fuel door should then open. If not then something is wrong, there is an emergency release behind the carpet in the trunk in that corner, look for the yellow tag on a wire.
Not knowing exactly what a fifi megane looks like I'm assuming you are speaking of a locked fuel door, either electrically controlled or by cable. Most manufactures have an emergency pull cable tab in the trunk compartment directly under the fuel door for such purposes. Then go back and repair the original problem.
Check fuse #15 if you have not done so & check in the trunk for a manual over ride under the tool kit. The 90-92 models had one, not sure if your model does. I don't have a lot of info on the 94 A 9000-- Maybe a Saab expert will chime in with more advise.
I can't say I'm sure on this but almost all vehicles that have locking fuel doors have a release cable inside the trunk near where the door is located. May be behind the trunk liner material in that general area. If you have your owners manual it should have a description of the fuel door operation in it somewhere along with how to open it should the normal system fail. Good luck and hope this helps!
I had a similar problem w
recently bought 2003 S80.Several points: 1) Access your locking selonoid
through the trunk interior panel ... loosen a few hex bolts and slide
out for maintenance; 2) I fixed my lock by simply using light
teflon-based oil (like for bike chains). I exercised it a few times and
it works beautifully; 3) Not sure on your model, but gas door on the '03
unlocks when you push the associated release button under the headlight
control switch. It is not designed to unlock w the key (again, check
owners manual for your year). Hope this helps.
master_pre08-04-2007, 09:35 AMYeah,
the fuel door on my 2000 S80 is connected with the door locks. In order
for it to open you have to unlock all the doors to the car.

Thanks
Guys,
I removed the locking mechanism and applied a little silicon graphite
and now it works like a charm.
vw doesnt have an emergency release handle that i know of,you will have to remove the panel and then twist the cable end where the head of the gas door lock is, as you twist it will pop out, unless its electric release then do the same except there no cable just the lock head and a connector. the release seloniod may be bad or stuck, or the door may be stuck.hope this helps,
I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.
