That is the transmission overdrive indicator light. On the left side of the gear-shift handle, you'll see a small button marked "O/D." This is the button used to toggle between "Overdrive On" and "Overdrive Off." Push the button to turn on the overdrive. If overdrive was already on, pushing the button turns it off.
