HOW DO YOU GET THE BRAKE LIGHT OFF ON THE DASH AFTER BRAKE JOB IS DONE

Either you haven't put the handbrake fully down, or somewhere, front or back, the brakes are at the end of their life and need replacing.
This is usually covered in the manual for your car.
If you do not have it, you may be able to find an online download..

Abs warning light on and handbrake not working

It sounds like one or both of of your rear brakes is dragging or partially seized up.this would cause the ABS light to register. To fix the problem it will require you to service the brakes by freeing up the parking brake and getting everything moving again.Use a lubricant for brakes.Check the rear brake lining as they may be worn from being partially on.Make sure the caliper assembly is also moving freely and doesn't need replacing. This is of course if you are handy with a set of tools. If you haven.t done this kind of work before take it in and have it looked at.Brake work is either 100% correct or dangerously wrong.Good Luck

Yellow parking brake fault light is on but brakes seem fine and handbrake engages/disengages fine

This light (yellow) is probably the low brake fluid indicator, Red is usually parking brake. Hope this helped..

Hand brake light on dash of my 1983 FJ40 will not turn off

Hi. Look at the brake master cylinder. See if the brake fluid is low. If there is a wire and a connector on the side of the reservoir, this is the 'fluid-height sensor' when the fluid is low (as the brakes wear, the fluid level drops proportionally), the fluid level is below the sensor, and creates a circuit, thusly illuminating the light.

Abs annd brake light stays on

Your brakes would require some testing because there are a couple things that could go wrong that would give you a hard pedal. With regards to your abs light and handbrake light staying on you should get your codes read to give you more info. But they share a common fault. One of the reasons they could both be on is because your skid control ECU is faulty. Otherwise it could be two separate issues.

1995 Buick Park Ave. Brake light remains ON and chimes on driving

The problem is the car think the park brake is on (intermittently). I would check the park brake switch, perhaps it's loose, or perhaps the park brake is pushed down to the first "click" spot. Also check the wiring connection to the switch, and the wiring nearby. Good luck!

I have a really dumb blonde question to ask. I have mitsubishi lancer glxi 1996. And lately the handbrake/exclamation light has been coming on. Not too long ago I did add brake fluid to the brake fluid...

Ok Lisaa, is it the brake light that's coming on, or actually a light for the handbrake? If this light is for the handbrake, check the handbrake the next time it lights up, by doing this, push in release button and push e-brake down as far as u can. Does the light go off? Sometimes if the e-brake is on just slightly, the dash light will go on. I am not familiar w/ Mitsubishi dash warning lights, but usually there is only one brake warning light and it's an indication of a brake problem. Give me any more info that u can, if it's the brake system warning light u need to get it checked out asap. How much fluid did u add, and have u checked it again? Let me know, countrycurt0

2000 tacoma

Try turning the parking brake handle and pressing it in. If that does not work then replace the under dash sensor on the parking brake (not the brake pedal). Hope this helps.
