Problems with '05 GMC Sierra, Standard

My truck is jerking during acceleration, with the engine light blinking. Feels like the gas is empty, but has half a tank in it. Has no power. Has a rattle sound when shifting gears. Have done a tune up and tested the MAF Sensor, all good. Code came up with tune up, MAF Sensor and catalic converter. Any suggestions on what it could be? 136k miles on it.

Typically, a flashing light is more serious than a solid check-engine light. The flashing light is meant to alert you that you may have a misfire in your engine that will cause catalytic converter damage if you leave the problem unresolved. Replacing a catalytic converter can be costly, so have the engine checked as soon as possible by a certified mechanic.

Have the fuel pressure checked- this would determine if your fuel pump is working properly. Its really easy if you have a gauge. you might be able to rent one at a part store. or it could need a new fuel filter

this may be due to a poor connection at the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission, pull the connector off the sensor and clean it with contact cleaner, if the problem persists replace the speed sensor. there are 2 diff ones here is a picture of the most common one for an auto trans.

hi,

sounds like a vacuum leak, injectors clogged, bad plugs, plug wires or maybe low tranny fluid or combo one all, have it dynoed to save yourself some money of course.

When maintaining speed of about 50mph,2004 pacifica hesitates and will cut off while in park sometimes.check engine light is not on

A blinking check engine light is the warning of an engine misfire that can cause damage to the catalytic converter. Check car by diagnostic tool and keep car well.

Have the catalytic converters checked. The are warrantied 8 years 80k miles.
