#1 Spark plug is no burning fuel.

I have a 1981 Datsun/Nissan 280ZX non-turbo and the #1 spark plug is not buring fuel at all. I put a new one in and still doing it. All other spark plugs are ok and burning the fuel. But the #1 has no burn marks and looks like it has never been used, I checked and there is spark from the plug wire and the plug itself too. The car does not run smoothly when idling and some backfire at cold start. Please help.
thx u.

Either your timing chain has jumped a cog, or a valve is stuck or burnt. Best way to check the timing is with a timing light. If the mark jumps all over the place, your chain is no good. To check the valve, do a compression test. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

Try checking if there is power on the connector of injector using test light/meter tester. If there is no power, check the wiring and connector. It solve my problem.

Have your catalytic converter checked. You might have a blockage in the exhaust.

1981 280zx cannot get timming adjusted. car runs rough

make sure you have it on number 1 cyl top dead center, cause you can actually have it on number 6 cyl instead of number 1... seen it many times, same as on 4 cyl inline... its that inline thing going on...

I have a Datsun/Nissan 280ZX non-turbo (Not a 210)

Have the thermostat tested first. You can do that by observing if the fan turns on when the fan exceeds your normal running temperature. You may want to check the radiator cap it may be worn out that some steam may come out through it causing temperature to increase in the process.
