Seat moves all the time back and forth and vibrates. dealer wants 1500 to replace. is there a fuse i can take out to make it stop
If you are refering to an automatic seat I sugest you to check the small motor under. It might have a fuse of it can simply go bad as well. If i am in your shoes I will get a used motor and start from there. Good Luck!

The passenger airbag is what is called a smart generation airbag, there is a sensor in the passenger seat that tells the airbag control module to turn off the bag if the weight is less than 50 pounds in the paswsenger seat, i.e. a child, I work for Ford and we will not turn off or tamper with or disconnect the airbag, why? if you get in a wreck and are hurt because we disconnected or otherwise defeated the airbag we would be liable for damages and a lawsuit.

The problem is most likely caused by shorted heating grids in the seat cushion itself, kind of like the heating element in an electric blanket, very expensive to replace.

Just picking at you. It would have to be a bad switch. Forward and back are on the same circuit switch just reverses the power and ground to the motor.

sorry to say not repairable, i also have escort zx2 and had the same issue, i had to replace the seat.

under the seat is a thin wire that goes from one side to the other it has most likely broke you need to find the secondary lock it was connected to and release it to move the seat but you must also release the main lock so i suggest replacing the wire . THIS IS FOR MANUEL SEATS
now as for power seats you will have to locate the power lead wire and make sure it is not broke if so you can replace the connecter with an aftermarket one and it may work again
