I have a 1994 Ford Taurus with a 3.8L V-6. During idle there is a rattle that seems to be coming from the exhaust manifold. It sounds like a loose heat riser, but I'm not sure this car has one. Also, there are some vacuum hoses that connect to a device above the engine and the other end hooks to some pipes tolds the back of the engine. These hoses seem to be under extreme pressure because the hoses are always being blown off. So much so that I had to put hose clamps on them to keep them connected. Also, I notice that during acceleration during warm up the car will appear to miss fire. Also, the pick up in the vechicle does not seem to be what it once was (acts like the vacuum advance is not working, if this car has one). Are any of these item related to one another, or to a particular problem?

Would know if it solved the problem until I follow up. However, I have a sneaky feeling you are correct.
