Take off handles using screw driver and remove screws so you can pry off door panel clip pins to access inside. Just be careful to not damage the window or the string the the window motor causes to rise and lower the window as that would cause many hours for novice mechanic to fix.

SOURCE: mazda 2003 MPV door locks

I just fixed this same problem. It happened to me 3 different times in a month so I got good at it. Before you dive into removing your door try this. Pull the door handle and release it letting it snap back several times. The problem is a half open door latch that won't let the door unlock. Do this as aggressively as you can to attempt to get the latch to return to its original position. Check the door lock between flicks.

Ok, if that didn't work, here is how to remove the door.
1. Remove the screw behind the door latch, you will have to pop the plastic cover off first.
2. Remove the rubber insert in the door handle
3. Remove the screw that is now visible
4. Now remove the window/lock control module, the back is free but the front has a plastic lip so lift the back up and pull towards the back of the van.
5. Remove the clips that attach to the lock and to the window controls (these can be a pain)
5. (Optional) Remove the bracket that held the window/lock control module

At this point your door is basically free, it is only held in place with plastic clips that can be easily forced off. If your door were open you would simple pull the bottom of the door out (hinged at the window) and lift it off. But since we can't pull because the door is closed we have to force it out.

From here it is pretty simple. Move the seat all the way back and tip the seat way back. Lift the door panel straight up. You will be breaking 2 plastic clips from the rear part but once you do it just pulls out. This is not that easy because the space is limited but just keep pulling and force the rear end of the door panel past the b-pillar. Once you do this it is free.

Have fun and try to keep the black gook from getting everywhere.

Oh, to fix the door lock just oil/grease it and manually move the mechanism several times.

you need to take it to your local dealer and raise a big fuss because this is a known problem and if you yell loud enough you should be able to get this fixed under warranty.

SOURCE: How do I change the bulb in the low beam headlight

Removing the bulb in a CX7 is a real PITA. If replacing the right bulb, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, or do the opposite for the left side. (or you can opt to remove the entire wheel on the corresponding side) You'll need to remove 3-4 of the fender well clips with a phillips screwdriver being careful not to break them. Once the screws are removed, pry back the wheel well cover to access the back of the headlamp to change the bulb.

Replace outer front door handle Mazda cx7 2010 model

Hey, I just use a metal zipstrip. Cheap and easy. Look on youtube for Prizm handle replacement. You basically slip it under the current handle and slip it in the zip buckle to make a loop. It's ghetto but works and does not use duct tape unlike most Red Green type "solutons".

I can not open the door of the Mazda CX7

Hi,
You have the actual key that inserts into the door lock? Are you certain it's the correct key and not a 'valet' key? Does the car have other key locks that it may work in such as the rear hatch or passenger's door? Attached is the Owner's Manual or call the dealer for more ideas.

Hi..! my mazda cx7 '07 run out of battery, after I give a booster it works, but the fron passenger side window don't work any more, can you help me on this , is there any way to do a reset?

This happened to me after I came back from the dealership and they failed to inform me...SHOCKER. Here's the solution:
- turn the key to 'ON'
- open the window all the way
- close the window and hold the switch up for another 2 seconds
- do the same for the passenger side

That should fix the problem. It's in the manual on page 3-36.

Driver's side door latch doesn't open the door from the inside. What s the fix?

If the outside Latch is working then the release bar attached to the interior latch has become disconnected. You will need to open up the door panel and see if the bar has just fallen off or if the latch has broken and needs replaced. If you need an example to look at either get the Haynes repair manual on the vehicle or open the passenger door up as well and compare the two sides.
