Washer fluid wont work

If you have washer fluid in the contaner under your hood, then have someone listen with the hood up to see if the motor on the pump runs. If it does not run you have a loose connection usually at the washer motor or a bad fuze to the water pump. Fuse is in the fuse cluster, usually under the dash.

Assuming you have washer fluid and you can hear the pump with no flow at the main line I would guess the turbine has separated from the pump shaft.

If you can hear the washer bottle motor then you know its not an electrical problem, if you can see the fluid in the lines then the best thing to do would at each connection in the hose disconnect the line and operate the washes and see if the fluid comes out (also pay attention to pressure) do this until you reach the washer nozzles. The nozzles could be blocked. now you might say that you put new lines on so the nozzles shouldn't be blocked well if you think of it the previous hose could have been partly bocked thereby stopping any **** that is at the filter on the washer motor going anywhere(most modern cars have filters on the washer motors) So by putting new lines on you have allowed the **** at the motor travel all the way to the nozzles letting them get blocked.

Get a helper to turn on the washer while you listen closly in the area of the fluid tank. You should hear the pump turn on. If you do not hear the pump. Check for loose wiring. Check for a bad fuse. If all that is ok, you have a bad washer fluid pump motor. If you hear the pump motor running, check for some crud in the tank that may have stopped up the small screen in the bottom. Check the small hoses that connect the pump to the sprayers on the hood.

is it frozen? don't know the temp where you are , but here in Green Bay, Wi. we've had a run of this lately. if that's not the case, then the pump may be running but not able to pump, which will require replacement of the pump motor. good luck!

Often the washer nozzles can get clogged. If you hear the washer pump running, you need to disconncect the small hose from the washer nozzle, and see if you get fluid pumped thru it when you hit your washer switch. If so, you need to unclog or replace the nozzle, and if no fluid is pumped out the hose, you need to remove and inspect the washer pump, as it might be dirty, or failed.

remove the hose from the wiper arm and see if when you push the washer button that the fluid comes out the hose,if it does the sprayer nozzel is plugged if not replace the pupm

check the washer fluid canister to see if you can hear the pump. If so, then check screen in tank and hoses and spray nozzles for clogs. If you cannot hear pump when you press the button, check the fuse and the wiring to the canister.

It is comon for the washer fluid pump to fail. I would also check the bottle for leaks it is comon for the battery to leak and damage the pump and the bottle.
