Bank and sensor location. Bank 1 refers to the back of cylinders that contain cylinder #1. Bank two refers to the other bank of cylinders that do not contain cylinder #1. Sensor 1 refers to the upstream O2 sensor or the O2 sensor before the catalytic convertor. Sensor 2 refers to the downstream O2 sensor or the sensor located after the Catalytic convertor. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions, good luck.
On V engines one of the cylinder heads is located further forward than the other. That is the side that has cylinder #1 on it. That is bank 1. The other side is bank 2. There are 2 oxygen sensors-one in front of the cat convertor and one behind it. Sensor 2 is behind the convertor. It looks kind of like a spark plug with wires coming out the top
Locate cyl number 1 that is bank #1. Sensor #2 will be located on the portion of the exaust that corresponds to that particular bank after the catalytic convertor. Sensor before the Catalyst is refered to as #1
you have 4 O2 sensors, bank one is the front cylinders ( close to the readiator ) there is 2 bank 1 O2 sensors one infront of the catalitic convertor ( bank 1 sensor 1 ) and one after the convertor ( bank 1 sensor 2 ) the same on the back cylinders they are bank two sensors 1 & 2 i will try to post the location of the wiring plugins if you find the plugs then you can folow the wiring to the sensor....good luck
bank 1 sensor 1 is driver side exhaust pipe in front of catalyticconverter, bank 1 sensor 2 is drivers side exhaust pipe behind catalyticconverter, bank 2 sensor 1 is passenger side exhaust pipe in front of catalyticconverter, bank 2 sensor 2 is passenger side exhaust pipe behindcatalyticconverter.
bank 1 sensor 2 is the 2nd 02 sensor in the exhaust going from the front of the exhaust towards the rear of the exhaust.usually it is the sensor after the catalytic convertor
the O2 sensors are located underneath the vehicle if you fallow down the exhaust manfifold pip that will bring you right two them depending if you have one or two Bank one are located before the catalytic convertor an bank 2 are located right behind it so it would be the sensor farthest from the engine bay and closest to the muffler but right after the cayalytic convertor it will have 4 wires in your case and its a simple replacement just make sure its done when everything is cold all you need is a wrench 7/8 usually or purchase a O2 sensor socket wrench for a few dollars good luck
Ther are at leat 3 and maybe 4 o-2 sensors in that particular truck...one on each exaust pipe coming down from manifold...and one after convertor on each bank....Pass.side before convertor is bank one, sensor one ..behind convertor is bank one sensor two..drivers side before convertor is bank two, sensor one...behind convertor is bank two sensor two(If equipped with four....scan will tell you which one is bad....good luck..lee
