SOURCE: replaced ctm unit and truck won`t stay running.

there are 2 sensor on the carb . you may need to replace both to find out whiche one it is . try this also give it gas while starting and when it starts you will have to keep your foot on the gas a little to keep it running if it runs that way its one of the 2 senors .

SOURCE: 2000 volkswagen beetle will not shift into

sounds like an electrical problem with the transmission ...these transmissions are fully electronic and the gears are engaged by servo valves these are controlled by the computer.... if there is any problem with the engine or a few other things it will be put into safe mode and it wont engage overdrive ..it may need to be scanned to see if any codes exist in the auto trans ecm..

SOURCE: My 1998 Volkswagen Beetle keeps dying.

With the car running rough it could cause the harsh shift but if it is staying at 5000 rpms then the ****** is about to go out on you. The rough idle sounds like a vacuum leak. If you can keep the car running at idle listen for a sucking type sound. That would indicate where the vacuum leak is.

2004 Volkswagen Beetle. Whilst driving loses all engine power for a few seconds then runs normal again, very intermittent.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to sub category.

Very difficult to diagnose such problems purely because they are intermittent. It could be a sensor, but more likely a bad contact or broken wire in the wiring harness. It does appear to be a known issue.

2001 new beetle battery drain wont start

Alternator!!! Boost the car, if starts let it run for a few min. Once the car has stayed running for a couple of min, unhook the negative terminal on the battery, if it stays running, the battery is junk. If it dies, the alternator is junk. But this is just my past experience, and it worked.

Never know.

Replaced timing belt and car won't run

You had better check the timing belt again, you may have done something wrong and it skipped teeth.

Ihave a 2000 vw beetle are both cooling fans supposed to stay on when the airconditioner is running

it is quiet normal for the fans to work when the A/C is on, in some vehicles they only run at half speed when the A/C is working, if they run all the time when the A/C is not on you may have a problem.....hope this helps.....cheers.

I have a question, is it normal for my 2000 Beetle turbo cooling fan to continue running for 10 minutes after shutting down the car? While the car is running, Is it normal for the fan to run for a count...

Yes. I have a 2006 Jetta and the cooling fan (the one on the radiator) runs after I shut my car off. It's to continue to disperse the heat and cool things off. No worries. I would watch it and make sure it does not become a problem tho.
