Grinding sound when braking on a 1995 GMC Sonoma w/ recently replaced front brakes

Anytime i brake, i can hear what sound like my front brakes grinding. I checked the both brakes & everything is fine, but i continue to hear the sound. Not sure what it is now. I only have an audio clip of it because its never clearly heard during video so i cant upload the clip.

Possibly abs motor running due to false activatin. these trucks had issues with wheel speed sensors... try and pull abs fuse and see if u still hear noise. if not then u will have to find which sensor is deffective.

I would look for rust on the back side of the rotors; this is a very common problem that will duplicate the noises that you describe.

SOURCE: Hear a grinding noise from the right front wheel

You should definitely pull the front wheel and check the bearings (they are roller bearings, not ball bearings). With the wheel off, you should be able to isolate where the noise is coming from, but I vote for the bearings. Check, replace and/or repack, and adjust properly. If you have noise, you should be able to feel the "play" in the bearings, or see the wear problem on the spindle and bearings. I hope this helps you.

Recently replaced the original equipment front brake pads on a 1997 Toyota Camry V-6 with ceramic brake pads. Also replaced the front brake rotors. Used disc brake quiet/lube at time of installation. I am...

You did not mention working on the rear brakes, so I must assume that the rear brakes are still original equipment. Perhaps the grinding noise is coming from the rear.

How do i know if brake booster is gone ? 2001 gmc

Do you by any chance hear a hissing noise from under the dash? If so, yes, you have a bad booster. For it to do what you're saying, it would almost have to have a vacuum leak. However, if there is a problem with something in the ABS system, you should have an ABS warning light on. Also, ABS can make the pedal fade, but I've never heard of it making the pedal hard. Your diagnosis of a brake booster does sound likely, but I'll admit I can't be sure -- this is an odd one.

Noise under dash when applying brake pedal

Well, now being 60, might be a bit of a challange for me , but if I had to..... anyway dress comfortably, push the front seat back as far as you can. Now lay on your back looking up UNDER the L/S of the dash where you hear the noise and LOOK. for something loose. Open the hood, look for something loose under the L/S of the windhield. Nothing to lose. Hope this helps
