The person asking this question has a PONTIAC GRAND AM SE, NOT a Grand Prix. (Not the same car).If you will go to any local auto parts store they will carry the repair manual for your car. The repair manual has the wiring diagram for all the wiring in your car in the back part of the manual. It will be called the HAYNES Auto Repair Manual for the year of your Pontiac Grand Am SE. I just dont understand how some people can be so ignorant as to excessively cut wiring out of a car when they dont even know what they are doing. Go figure. lol. If there is a college or a trade school in your area that has courses for auto mechanics , most of them repair cars also. They usually do not charge a labor charge, they only charge for the parts needed to repair a car and also a small shop fee. If this is the case in your area give them a call asap. They can help you. I used to have a 2002 Pontiac grand Am SE 1. I now have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am SE 1 and I am going to sell it. If you need any more help just respond back. Hope this helps.
You have to leave the key in the ignition in the on position until it stops flashing . . usually about 10 minutes or so . . .I have had this same problem several times already. If it is dark the light stay on . . But the computer has to clear the alarm.
Hope this helps
only use water and 30% anti freeze in the system(the antifreeze acts to stop internal corrosion)better to use a non ethylene glycol mix.(better for the environment)if the ambient temp where you live goes below -10 then use a 50% mix.always flush out the system every 2 -3 years anyway.....
Notice if your SECURITY dashboard light is on when the key has been turned to the on position. If it is then your security feature needs to be reset. The security feature will often come on when 2 failed attempts to start the car have occured or the battery goes dead or is replaced. I believe to reset the security feature you have to place the key in the ignition and turn to the on position without starting the car and leaving it there for 10 minutes. Just wait it out and the light will go out. Then take the key out and try restarting. I've been through this many times. You need a good battery to leave the key on for 10 minutes. Take it easy!
turn the key to the on position for 10 minutes till security light turns off. then turn the key back to off. then start the car. car should start if so theres a black box under the glove box on passinger side called the bcm (body control module) there are 3 sets of wire plugin's the middle one has a yellow wire in the center of it next to a black wire. with car still running cut the yellow wire. that bypasses the security thieft anti lock system.
