Since EPA regulations say a car can't let gas fumes into the air the vent valve opens to let air enter the fuel tank so it won't collapse when the fuel is removed to run the engine. It closes when there is pressure above atmospheric pressure so the gas fumes can't come out
Its all connected. The computer uses a solenoid to vent the fumes from the tank when the engine is running. The vapor canister holds the fumes until the vent valve is opened. The computer tried to vent the tank and something went wrong. It could be from the excessive heat or something with the venting system. A mechanic would test the venting system.
Yes you have vent valve and a purge valve its part of what is called your EVAP system. what it dos;e is simply tranfure gas fumes that come from the gas tank and then are stored in a charcoal canster. The vent valve opens and close;sto allow gas fumes to go to the canster then the purge valve also opens and cloese;s to let the fumes from the canster go into the engine to be burned The vent valve is around the gas tank and charcoal canster and the purge vavle it on the intake manifold Iwould check bolth it could be there clogged or stuck But there not that expensive and not hard to replace
Bad heater core. What is happening is when you turn on the air you are getting fumes from the heat of the engine and the heater core leaking causing you to get a smell and also fumes. I would suggest that you take it to the dealership or a mechanic and have the problem fixed ASAP due to the health issue
well it could be a clog but i doubt it. sounds like you will have to replace the heater core and it takes all day as the entire dash and steering column has to come out.
no that our radiator in the dash (heater core ) thats leaking prestone the fume you got in the window is evaporating prestone you have to get the heater core replace because you gonna run out of prestone(coolantfor the engine) and the engine will overheat and with all the fume you wont see were our going pierre
