I have a 2000 Grand Am GT 3400 with a miss on #6 cylinder I've changed the plug and wire from the coil pack. I've also checked the firing order in relation to the wires and all are correct. any suggestions as to where to look next.

theres no distributor and the firing order for your 3.8 is 1-6-5-4-3-2-the following link shows the coil pack

Try the standard for a 6 cylinder. 153624. That's what I always use.

You said you changed the coil pack and the wires but didn't mention the plugs. Try moving one of the plugs to a different cylinder and see if the miss follows it. It could also be the ignition module. (the thing the coil packs mount to.)

Firing order is 1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4. Number 1 cylinder is up front. Why would you need the firing order, this engine does not have plug wires, each plug has its own coil pack, each coil pack is controlled by the computer.

4-cylinder:

Firing Order: 1-3-4-2

3.1 liter:

Firing Order: 1-2-3-4-5-6

For the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix:
I do not know if you have the 3.1L V6 or the 3.8L (including Super Charger) V6; however I have included both below...

Did the engine light go on, and you got a miss-fire code? If so, 1st check spark plugs (which u did), then plug wires, if that's not it, the injectors would be next. Let me know how u make out
