Testimonial: "its the brake lights that are out"
its the brake lights that are out not the tail lights i just didnt know if ran on same fuse
ill get the drawing in , next hour,no hard to do, alldata.com
brake lights. no guessing.(i have the drawings now) this year car has very odd brake lamps, it uses the emergrancy flasher moduel to make the shared blinkers and brake lamps work.
fuse F3 runs the brake sw, power and dash buzzer , be sure to cycle the emg. lighting switch , just in case its stuck half way, seen that many a time.
the buzzer is key left in and seat belts, is that working? if not F3 is blown 15amp in engine bay box.
cab fuse? F3 is from top left 1,2,4 top right, 15amp , blown?
th is is a YJ , and is here. next post
see white wire? if that goes to 12v, keyone step on brake
?yes, and blinker work then the emg. module is DOA, Toast.

Tails lights are the GLOW when the headlights are pulled one cluck or 2, tails are also parking light (one click)
stop lamps HAVE nothing to do with that,
he never said but implies, the brake lamps are dead.
but OP, try posting what is dead, and not mix TL with BL.
my tails lamps are out , whith head lamps on.
or
when i brake , both stop lamps are out.
this will help.
this circuit is simple
12v from fuse, to the brake switch, the switch close and 12v makes it to both stop lamps and both glow, it has only 4 parts, power:fuse:wires, switch and bubs
if power exits the switch that levels what, wires and bulbs
the wires (and conn) can be open or shorted, using dirt cheap voltmeter finds this failure reason in under 5min flat.
0v its open wires, or switch dead or fuse blown.
Add a Comment12 is good
6v on the wire (guess) is SHORT, (trailer wiring hack job or shorted lamp)

hello sounds like a bad or loose wire on your brake switch up under your dash follow your brake pedal upward push down on your pedal now watch as you let it go slowley where it touches the skinny flat area of your petal touches a switch about 10 inches up from the bottom you should see a button sticking thru a bracket were your pedal touches check and jiggle wire if no lights change switch goodluck
SOURCE: the tail lights are out, so the brake lights-Jeep Grand Cherokee
i have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee i had the same problem when i would apply my brakes when the headlights were on my brake lights would go out, i found that my bulbsocket was not making good contact with the socket housing, if you notice when you take off a bulb, look at the light fixture where you unscrewed your breaklight bulb you will notice 3 medal contacts-they should be silver in the socket housing and like a copper on the socket bulb, in the socket housing their should be 2 silver contacts together and 1 by itself the one that looks by itself is making bad contact with the copper one thats by itself on the bulb, what you can do for a quick fix is; get a small piece of low cage wire or a thin piece of metal like copper stick that in to the bottom or top of that metal contact--i did it through the bottom leave the wire or piece of medal sticking out enough for where it can get contact with the bulb (just a little wire is enough to make contact, now screw the bulb on and test it---it will work----i did it to mine, if you need more assistance let me know [email protected]
SOURCE: NO LEFT SIDE TAIL ,STOP OR BLINKER REAR LEFTLIGHT
did you try to replace the bulb in the back normally when it blinks fast like that its just the bulb and its doulbe film thats why the brake and blinker dont work
