1990 Ford Ranger Stalling

I have a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.3 engine. The truck died a few weeks back like it had run out of fuel. I replaced ignition module and then replace Mass air flow sensor. Vehicle started up then died after about 10 minutes. I took it in for diagnostic and ended up replacing cranshaft position sensor. Vehicle has been running fine all day. Went out this evening for a ride, vehicle ran good for a bout 30 minutes then died. It started right back up and died again after 30 seconds. I would have to turn the ignition switch all the way off for it to start. Couldn't just crank crank it from the on position but had to turn key all the way back then it would start. It all ways started but only like I described and would die whithin 30 - 40 seconds. I need help. Also, It has been raing today but I have good spark all the way around.

My 1996 ford ranger when it gets wArm it starts to die out and will not run

Ranger not ford f100 Ranger.
When did it last run perfectly, last week, last decade or? never seen it run right..
lots of causes over up to 50.
I gets warm means engine,or outside air? temps.

so the spark plugs are bad or fouled. replace those old HV spark wires now.
it's over heating? the engine.
bad fuel
the classic answer is
bad engine, bad spark, bad fueling , in that order
or is the cause (or EFI failing)<< sensor etc.
this USA car (if is ) can OBD2 scanned easy, scan it.
do you want us to guess,? only.
or do tests, will you buy test tools to solve this?
there are tests for each cause of failure.
die out we call stalling engine,
when it wants to stall, can the fast right foot save the stall?
I guess car engine starts and runs cold? every time?
ever get a turn up,

engines 1996, diagnosis is best done, knowing first what is there,

2.3 L OHC I4, Pito LL23 4 cylinder but 8 spark plugs, yes.
3.0 L Vulcan V6
4.0 L Cologne V6

so when dead, and warm dead, check for dead spark?
check engine compression above 150psi on all cylinders
check fuel pressure when dead./

1994 Ford Ranger Starts runs for 3-4 minutes then dies, changed ignition mod, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, checked vac hoses, totally lost!!!!!

As with any no-start or stall problem you will need to figure out if it is a fuel or ignition issue.
The high idle usually means you have a vac leak or a problem with the throttle body or idle air control valve. The control valve is how the computer controls the idle speed.
You'll need to watch the fuel system and spark to see which is being affected when the engine dies.
You might want to hook a test light up to the coil to see if it is loosing voltage for example.

Why does my 1985 ford ranger keeps dying or stalling out

Based on your info you should be able to duplicate the problem on demand.
When the engine won't start, you need to figure out if it is fuel or ignition related to proceed.
Check to see if the plugs are firing, and if not check the coil, and see if the carb has fuel in it.
Ford products built in the 1980s had problems with the ignition module mounted on the side of the distributor but you may have replaced it already.

1988 ford ranger 2.9 ltr engine stalls while driving , restarts in a few minutes usually

There are several possibilities, but based on how you described the symptoms I suggest a profile igniton pickup. On these systems the failure usually begins as dropping a cylinder occasionally, like a misfire, mostly during high underhood temperatures, will manifest into stalling and finally into a stall with no resart condition. Symptoms are most likely to occur in summer. The pickup is inside the distributor and the distributor must be disassembled to install it,the trickiest part being the removal and installation of the distributor drive gear. They are iron and easily broken. The simplest solution is another distributor. The ignition modules typically do not fail in this manner, but this is classic for the pickup coil. A code for loss of pip signal should be present, it is possible for a code to not be present, though very unlikely. Having worked on these systems for years this would be my first area of diagnosis.

Hey guys .i have a 1990 chevy c2500. a while back it started running kinda rough when at low rpms... then it began blowing the ecm fuse after running for about 10 minutes, and the check engine light would...

First check and see if you have spark at the sparkplug if you do then you need to check your fuel pressure. It sounds like to me that your fuel pump has went out to lunch. When you turn your ignition on try and listen for the fuel you should here it for the first 2 seconds you turn the switch on.

I got a 1990 ford ranger 2.9 v6 its running very crappy

Fluctuating an high RPMs sounds like a leaking or missing vaccume hose to me, I had simmilar problem found open hole with hose off, replaced it now the RPMs are under 1000 again.
As for the stalling I also am having a simmilar problem, and am finding air in the fuel rail, I suspect the fuel pump is going.
I cant go more than a mile without problems.

Engine stalling out when hot

I would have the control module checked. It is mounted to the back of the distributor. You can take it by any autozone to be tested. This component heats up and then starts to break down inside,, when it cools back off then you are able to start back up until it goes completely out.
