The coolant sensor in GM have the same color code for wire Black and yellow. Now coolant sensor is located on engine block or near thermostat.

SOURCE: STARTER - 1993 cutlass ciera

According to Chilton's, and assuming you have the 3300 V-6, it won't be fun. The first instruction is to drain the air conditioning system, and remove the front manifold. The starter is between the engine and the radiator. The deal breaker for me is the A/C draining/refill. If anyone knows of a way to avoid the A/C drain, let me know. Otherwise, I may just preemptively replace mine before my buddy runs low on R-12.

SOURCE: 92 cutlass ciera not starting

Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or injectors.

SOURCE: The windows in the 95 oldsmobile cutlass ciera won't work at all

maybe the wire is severed where the door (drver dr) pivots. thats what was wrong with mine. there is a rubber boot with crinkles in it that hold all the wires together. you can also try replacing the switch board that controls the wndws on the drvr dr. hope that helps.

SOURCE: 92 olds ciera won't start

Johnny, It's probably the coil pack. If you follow the spark plug wires backwards from the plugs it will lead you to the part(s). There may be more than one. Check with the local autoparts place to see if they can test it for you. If not I would try a Junk yard first, incase that isn't the problem.

93' cutlass ciera 3.3 wont stay on after turning over

run the fault codes
not running indicates that the air/ fuel ratio is incorrect for the ambient temperature so you should be checking the ambient temp sensor /baro sensor and coolant temp sensor

My 1990 oldsmobile cutlass ciera wont start at all and its not showing a code

Sounds like your coolant temp sensor went bad, it is in or around gooseneck /intake area 2 wire plug yellow/brown if I remember right this regulates fuel according to temperature so basiclly it tells ecm how much fuel to send to throttle body for how cold it is out. these go bad and cause a -40 *F which pours raw fuel down intake thus flooding,

1994 cutlass Ciera... I just swapped engines 3.1 from a 96 to a 94...everything went great, except the temperature gage doesn't work. I see in the 94 there is a sending unit on the back head just...

Your 94 engine has separate coolant temp sensor and gauge sender. The 96 engine incorporates both in the engine coolant temp sensor. The coolant temp sensor is near the t-stat, below the throttle body. Check to see how many wires are in this plug. If it only has two, you may be able to use the plug from the 96 motor and wire it into the wire where the original sensor was. You should be able to just color match. Not sure if you can get away with this but the 96 plug should have a third wire, and it's woth a try.

Have a 93 with a 3.3 fuel inj. Car started to burn super rich. Black smoke coming from the exhaust. Car won't stay running because it's over=fueling. Anyone know where would be a good place to start in...

Replace the Maf sensor it is not detecting the atmospheric pressure and is over fueling the engine. Also check the EGR valve it may be stuck open this is a common issue and could cause the black smoke, Also once you fix it you need to do a top engine clean to clean out the carbon on the engine and then do a oil change, if you need help on doing the top engine lcean leave comment and I will give you directions on how to do this.
