Engine management light

Engine was cold and I had to accelerate quickly, in doing so the engine management light came on. Could it be serious or just a re-set?

2003 blazer p301 code ive changed coil plugs check engen still flashing when accelerating

The flashing light means the problem is serious enough to damage the catalytic converter.
The code means cylinder 1 is not producing power. So it could be fuel, compression, or ignition related.

Engine management malfunction

Hello
When the service engine soon light (Also called the check engine light or engine management light) is turned on this is to alert you to the fact that Powertrain Control Module (computer) has detected a failure somewhere in the systems it controls you may not feel any difference in the way the engine runs, this can be the transmission or the engine or emission system, there are fault codes set in the modules memory for these faults. What needs to happen now is to have the powertrain control module scanned with a special tool called an OBD2 electronic engine control scanner or a OBD2 code reader. Once the code(s) are read then you must perform the diagnostics for each code and make the appropriate repairs based on the findings of the diagnosis that was performed, this is called doing "Pinpoint" testing.

Check engine light is on and my car hesitates when accelerating. Sometimes the check engine light will blink (instead of just stay on steadily) during moments of hesitation/acceleration.

When a 'check engine light' (MIL=Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is turned on, there is a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) set/stored in the ECM/PCM (Engine Control Module/Powertrain Control Module). This code identifies which engine management system component/function experienced a malfunction. Once you pull/read this code, you may begin diagnosis.

The service engine light came on and started to have problems gaining speed and the light started blinking!

This is most likely a misfire. When the light blinks under acceleration it is telling you the engine is in serious need of service, which doesn't necessary mean that the engine is in serious trouble. Have your OBDII port and codes checked. Your local parts store like AUTOZONE will do this for free.

When vehicle is cold and first starting engine seems to bog down when accelerating

Did the 'Check Engine' Light come ON? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

Engine management light on, lack of power

I have the same problem, from cold it starts begrudgingly then trundles along in limp home mode, once the engine is warm again it seems to improve a little and by re-starting the engine it can re set the ECU. I have been to Toyota today and it is the SCV valve kit attached to the fuel pump. It could be one of many things though, and if you go to Toyota only they can diagnose the issue using their diagnostic which cost me £43.
