Low oil pressure warning stop engine - 2004 Alfa Romeo 147

Have you checked with a mechanical gauge to see what your pressure is? You might actually have low oil pressure.

Not good. It is low oil PRESSURE, not low oil LEVEL, although low oil can cause low pressure if the pump is scavenging. When was the last time the oil filter was changed?

The pressure regulator in the oil pump may not be working, the idle speed may be too low and there may be a lot of wear on internal engine parts lowering oil pressure

do u have enough oil in it ,is you light giving a false reading get a manual oil pressure gauge and make sure or your oil pump can be going bad , your main bearing are going bad , be more specific here ,

Make sure oil level is full, possible faulty oil pressure sender. replace sender and recheck, if warning still comes up, possible internal engine issue.

The oil pressure warning light comes on to warn the driver the oil pressure in the engine has dropped below 10psi.
The reason could be the engine is low on oil, or there is a problem with the oil pump or other internal engine component.
The oil pressure switch could also be faulty.

if the engine is not making noise then more times then others its just a bad pressure sensor

Normally, if you get a oil warning light signal (flashing) could be a few things related to it. Number one, you are low on oil. Check your oil level and make sure it is at full level. Number two, is possibly oil filter is dirty, ( time for service,oil change) or problem with oil pump or oil pump pressure. BUT I would first start with checking oil level and then maybe a oil change.

Check your oil, it may be low if not the oil pressure needs checked. The sending switch could be bad or you have low oil pressure. If you have low oil pressure have it fixed ASAP. The loss of oil pressure can cause severe engine damage.

replace the faulty oil pressure sending unit.
