I have an alfa romeo 156 5 speed manual and im trying to remove the gear selector lever at the transmission but i cant seem to get it pulled out from the transmission. Any suggetions on removing this

The gear selector levor snapped just before it goes into the transmission and at the moment im tring to remove the lever and shaft so i can replace it. so far ive disconnected all linkages and the counterwieght to make it easier, and the 2 ten mil bolts that hold the linkage in the transmission are removed so far. Any ideas of what i missed?

SOURCE: alfa romeo 147 flashing dasboard

This is so you can set it, just set or reset the time on the clock and it will stop flashing, same thing with the km,move from km to miles and back, if you want km then set to km but if you want miles then go to miles but you must select through it, good day.

Only get 1, 2nd and reverse on my Alfa 156 selespeed 2000. Other gears i don't get. The selespeed light flash on the dash and gear indicator also flashing. What can cause this?

It may have a problem in the electronics that shift the transmission, have a fault code test run on the Transmission control module (TCM)

My 156 sportswagon is burning fuel badly i put 2 gallons in and only got 31 miles for this i can hear an air leak coming from top of engine would this be a likley cause for such poor fuel consumption it's...

an air leak would weaken the mix of fuel to air so giving you better fuel efficiency but a poor power output.
was my last answer not to your liking, re **** fuel consumption on all fiat/alpha cars.but it is true, ask any owner........14.7 average mpg.......£205 road tax.....(tax it for a year and quadruple its value...)

I LEFT MY CAR PARKED OVER NIGHT IN NUTRAL ADN NEXT

Alfa's have a Nylon ball with the gear selector (under the gearbox). They wear pretty easily. This could be pretty worn, either that or you're running low on gearbox, or "selespeed" oil. Check them out. They're pretty important and can cause serious problems to the gear box if not looked after.

I cant remove my front headrestson my alfa romeo 156 tspark

At the base where the head rest forks go in there's usually a side clip which you just push in. If not they may just need some brut force, some of the Recaro leather seats that Alfa used were like this! Hope this helps.

My 1999 Alfa 156 2.5 v6 has been giving me problems.A gear box light keeps coming on and the car will only drive at a slow speed and seems to be reduced in exceleration.

Check transmission fluid, eventually replace it. If fluid is OKit can be a problem with transmission control module, or if transmission is automatic with the TPS sensor.
In this case you will need to scan control module to find out the problem. This operation can be done at any qualified garage.
