Why does the TPMS light come on in my Kia Sorento?

Check the door ajar switch for correct operation.

None of those would be fixed by replacing the battery. Or did you replace the battery and then all of those stopped working?

You can tell of blade fuses are blown if you full them and hold them up to the light. That is a whole lot of stuff not working. I would say you need a good auto-electrician.

If your air pressure is ok in your tires, then your light stays on because the batteries in the sensors have gone bad. They only have a life span of 4-6 years or so. You have to replace the sensors in the wheels and then "calibrate" them. If you are doing one, do all four, because if one goes bad the others are close behind it and you don't want to have to calibrate them each time one goes bad. I ordered mine online, saving almost $200 ! Your dealer or some tire dealers can install and calibrate them.

TPMS is the tire pressure monitoring system. This is usually because one of your tires is low.
Here is what KIA says about it:
Once the low pressure tire is reinflamed to the recommended pressure and installed on the vehicle, the TPMS malfunction indicator and the low tire pressure telltale will be extinguished. If the low pressure and TPMS malfunction indicators are not extinguished after about 20 minutes of continuos driving, please visit an authorized KIA Dealer.

If you have to bring it to the dealer, they will most likely have to replace one of the tire pressure sensors.

We also have a 2008 Kia Sorento. We bought it in December 2007 and it has 12K miles on it. We've been having the same problem for about 2 months. In our case the check engine light comes on along with the esc off light however in our case the car then immediately loses power! We've had it to the dealer 4 times as it continues to occur even after they've claimed to fix it. The loss of power poses a serious safety hazard.

usually you can reset a check engine light buy disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes.

Apparently this is a recall matter and will be fixed at no charge. KIA Consumer Assistance Center 1-800-333-4542. Recall notices were to go out in May/June 2009.
