you have a lot things to do here.
you need to check the ff:
1. O2 sensor
2. MAF sensor
3. IAC and EGR valves
4. plugs, wire and coils
5. vacuum leak.

you haven't looked very hard. any ford dealer would have these on the shelf. any parts store has these on the shelf.

1989 escort, the head lights go off and on intermittently


check all your bulb/harness conections.your headlight relay is probably failing. always replace the bulbs with new ones for trouble shooting. replace the headlight relay and if this continues replace the headlight switch.

I need a copy of a fuse box diadram for a 1998 ford escort zx2 but i cant find a sit that i can down load it for free


Try fleet.ford.com, click on maintenance, then owners manual, and input your vehicle data, it should bring up your manual in adobe for free. The fuse box layout is inside the emergency/roadside chapter. Hope this helps.

How to trouble shoot the ac relay an switch


check out this entry from the ford escort owner's association. I did this to 3 of my escorts - its a VERY easy and cheap fix (relay from radio shack was ~$5).

Switch should be in trunk. I believe L/S ( toggle type of switch stating fuel/cutoff )
