Ecm fuse on that model should be located under instrument panel
left side of steering column. there are fusible links in the engine compatment passenger side under plastic cover on the firewall.

SOURCE: 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup. Windshield wipers, Cruise Control

May want to look at replacing the wiper circuit board. It is located on the firewall adjacent to the wiper motor and has a some what square black cover with 3 torx screws and wireing harness pluged into the side.We had a truck that every time you washed it the wipers would stay on until it dryed out.You can try removing it and spaying it down with contact cleaner just watch the brease on the two contact tips.Well hope this helps.

SOURCE: i have a 1990 Chevrolet C2500 Pickup. It keeps

if it is the ecm b fuse thats blowing i would try disconnecting your oil sending unit and see if it still blows the fuse.i have seen the sending unit short out internally before and blow the fuse.if it is the ecm 1 fuse it is either a chaffed wire or one of your injectors shorted.

SOURCE: My 1990 gmc sierra quit

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
This is a fairly common issue with these vehicals the problem is normally 1 of 3 things all of these should be tested if possiable
1. faulty crank position sensor
2. faulty cam sensor
3. faulty ecm this is the most common but is the most expensive
Make sure to test all of the fuses Both maxi fuse and the normal fuse along with the square fuse that controle the ignition side ok
Best regards Mike

I have a 94 gmc sierra 4x4 my injectiors won't work..I have put In a new ecm ignition module still nothing. I have power on the fuse and power on one side of my injectiors t they wont pulse

your testing is no good. (no engine told at all)
the ECM ,only injects using this logic.,

1: fuses good
2: ECM good (i bet yes)
3: CKP and CMP senors dead.
4: if the ECM sees spark dead it cuts all fuel to prevent as seen on TV "CRASH AND BURN" and by LAWs on this fact.
5: some cars have Injector buffer modules between ECM and injector rails.(LOOK OR READ THE FSM)
6: fuel pump dead.
7: fuel filters clogged or it and injectors too (they have 10micron screens)
8: have a NOID light? to see if injectors are not fired by ECM?
the injector plugs all have 12vdc on one pin, do they if not fuse blowN, #1 AGAIN.. USING A DMM, METER.

mostly this list works too BELOW.. (noid lamp fails)
fuses
ckp and or CMP sensor dead. The crank and cam must spin !!!!
if CMP is dead and cam does not spin, well that be cam drive dead.

spark dead, if spark is dead ECM detects it dead and fueling is banned,(blocked)by laws. (fire avoided , win)
way3:
if NOID passes on all injectors (as will spark tests)
fuel pressure gone. we measure it. (bad pump, clogs or bad fuel)

if spark is good test fuel test works.
ever do test fuel on any engine using can-o-fuel or instant start fuel in a spray can, seen engine run for 3 seconds and sounds good.?
RTM FIRST? there are sure more causes, list is common, only. and hard logic truths.

1997 GMC Sierra, I keep blowing the ECM 1 fuse, I replaced Fuel Pump relay and Fuel Filter. Does the ECM 1 Fuse Pump the Fuel Pump, also disconnected the Fiter turned on the key and no fuel.

ecm1 is injectors not fuel pump ecm-b is fuel pump its more likely to be a faulty relay for the injectors, it would be a similiar design to this
12900_oil_sending_unit_and_fuel_pump_circuit_80-yoo05im5qhid2i2poe1uh03c-5-0.gif this is for the fuel system, relay for the injector is nearly the same.

I replaced the fuel pump relay, noticed that i had a blown fuse marked ecm. repaced that.ran truck for around 20 min.turned off. when i went to start again it wouldnt. looked at that same 20 amp fuse

There are two ECM fuses - marked ecm 1 and ecm B.
ECM B powers the fuel pump and the Veh control module which handles most of the sensors.
ECM 1 powers the ignition module, coil, injectors and the rest of the engine sensors.
You may need a repair book with diagrams to check all of the circuits for shorts.

Is there an injector relay on a 1994 nissan maxima computer

Computers do not use relays. Computers use large transistors (A.K.A. "drivers") to control things like relays, solenoids and injectors.

That being said, your Nissan is equipped with "sequential multiport fuel injection". There are 6 injectors, all of which are supplied power from a 15 Amp fuse in the underhood fuse and fusible link center. The white wires at each of the injectors is hot (Battery Positive voltage) at all times, even with the ignition switch OFF. The drivers in the computer (or ECM)toggle the other wires on each injector (each injector having its own wire color) to ground (Battery Negative) in order to complete the injector circuit and cause the individual injectors to fire at the proper time. This is what is known as "injector pulse".

To sum-up, there are no relays involved in the actual injector circuits on your Maxima. The only relay that is remotely related to the injectors is the ECM Power Relay which supplies power to the ECM. Since the ECM will not function if this relay is defective, neither will the injectors work if this relay is faulty.

I hope this helps you to understand whatever it is you are trying to figure out.

ECM I fuse keeps blowing in my 1996 1 ton gmc sierra 4x4 with a 454 v8 engine whats causing it

For the ECM 1 fuse to open you obviously have a short to ground , start with the injector disconnected and see if ECM 1 fuse still blows. If it does disconnect crank sensor, also inspect wires for the injectors or any rub through wires here is a diagram cansmo_178.gif
