Oil Change I do not have the owners manual. I want to change the oil myself. Do I need a lift or jack? Is there somewhere on line I can find a detailed picture of where it is located underneath the van? I can not locate one. Thanks Jacquelyn

Hi you will need a jack.the drain plug is located at the verry bottom of the engine on the oil pan.do not know what motor you have, but look at the new oil filter, and try to locate the one on the car (it may be a diffrent color),use a oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter.use new oil to lubricate the new oil filter rubber gasket, and put on as tight as you can by hand (only.)

2010 Audi A3. How to change the oil please.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

Let's assume you mean engine oil. You also need to change the oil filter as well. You will need a jack, axle stands, an oil catch pan and a container to store the old oil until you can take it to your Community Recycling Centre, a set of wrenches and an oil filter wrench. As Larry states, it is much better to go to Jiffy Lube, with no fuss, no mess, in and out in 15 minutes.

My jack dose not pump up were to put fluid in

Presume it a hydraulic jack. Most are sealed, some of the more expensive types will have a valve, usually hidden somewhere.
But what you need to look for first is where it is leaking from.
If it has lost fluid chances are one of the seals have blown.

How to change your oil

umm if you have to ask you probably shouldn't try it yourself. But If you have everything needed to change your oil and are willing and able then here's what you do....
First: you will need and oil pan, funnel, wrench that fits your oil plug, new oil filter and possibly something to help remove your old oil filter, car jack stands/jack to lift your car.
Second: lift your car up enough to get under it using the jack, place oil pan under car's oil plug.
Next: remove oil plug let oil drain.
Next: remove oil filter
Next: once drained put new filter on and reinstall the oil plug.
Next: fill with the correct amount or quarts of oil for your vehicle, should say in user's manual. lower the jack and should be good to go.

On the GM car the engine will have to be removed to change your oil pump, however it is easiest to pull engine and transmission as an assembly. My question is why do you think you have a failed oil pump??? If oil pump fails it usually screws up engine too....

Want to change the oil myself, don't know how

look in your owners manual or look up online what type of oil you acura takes. Go to the store buy a 5 quart bottle of the oil type. Also buy an oil filter for your car. Just ask the people at the store to look up what filter fits your car. Get under the car or jack it up a little and put it on jack stands and get under it. Locate the oil pan and at the rear of it there is a small drain plug which is a bolt. Loosen it and get ready because once you remove it the oil will come pouring out so have a pan under the car to catch it. Then locate the oil filter and twist it off, replace the filter with the new filter and hand tighten. You dont need to gorilla grip it just snug it. Then replace the drain plug. Now your ready to refill with new oil up top. Make sure you get the right oil type and also lookup how many quarts your car needs. It is easy it takes less than 15minutes
