Autozone or advance can print out a timing belt lineup diagram for you..it will show the crankshaft(bottom pulley) mark the intermediate mark(the shaft for the distributor) and the cam mark(top shaft that works the valves)..with the engine at top dead center on the no.1 piston the timing mark on 0.. these marks should all line up.. if not , release the tension on the belt as shown in the step-by step from the store, and re-align them..good luck..

SOURCE: How do you change spark plugs on a 2003 chevy s10

on the left side drivers side to get to center plug you take off plastic piece around the steering connection you will need a small crow bar to pry this con apart first take bolt and nuts off small size bolts .need to take off air cleaner container at the throttle body hose clamps take this assembly all the way out ,to get to steering box and connection point.when this conn is off push or pry up towards windsheild,,this is like a schock absorber,it has splines to re connect be carefull when you put back you have to alignthis shaft so the spline goes back togather icant spell ,you know what i mean it has got the steering shaft go back the same fit BE CAREFULL

Check Engine Light On, P030x Specific-Cylinder Misfire Code A cylinder specific misfire indicates that either compression, appropriate fuel mixture, or spark is missing. Start with a visual inspection, looking for a vacuum leak near the cylinder and any sign of wear on the spark plug wire. Check the compression on the target cylinder to ensure that the engine is mechanically sound. Use a stethoscope to listen to the suspect cylinder's fuel injector. Listen for distinctive clicks and compare to another cylinder.

Have you done a compression check? I had the same problem on an S-10 Chevy pick up. Found that # 3 cylinder had low compression due to a burnt exhaust valve. No more problems after having valve job done on the engine.

Remove cylinder # 1 spark plug, # 1 is the front one on drives side, turn crankshaft pulley to TDC on compression stroke, you'll feel the comperssion at cylinder #1 spark plug hole, follow cylinder # 1 spark plug wire to distributor cap, mark outer part of distributor where # 1 sits, remove distributor and restabe distributor with rotor at mark you made, then set timing.

I have 98 Chevy S10 pick-ups? MY problem is there

Yes it could well possibly be the ignition switch or starter solenoid or intermittent ignition switch starter contact.Again check connections on battery especially the ground connection at the block. Also there could be air in the fuel line any of these could be hindering start up!
